Parking and maneuvering
the vehicle while you accelerate, brake, and mon-
itor the vehicle's surroundings. Park assist can be
interrupted at any time.
Note
– Parking spaces classified as suitable by the
system may have been detected incorrectly.
The driver must decide if the parking space
displayed is suitable for the vehicle.
WARNING
– Observe the safety precautions and note the
limitations of the assist systems, sensors,
and cameras ðpage 127 to ðpage 130.
– The driver is always responsible when enter-
ing or exiting a parking space and during
similar maneuvers.
– Certain objects (such as trees and posts) or
types of ground (such as gravel, snow, and
ice) in the area of the parking space may re-
sult in the vehicle not being positioned as it
normally would be at the end of the parking
process. This increases the risk of collisions.
– Do not use this function if the vehicle cannot
move freely, for example when on a vehicle
jack.
Tips
– If you did not drive past a suitable parking
space too quickly, the system can also be ac-
tivated afterwards by pressing in the cen-
ter display.
– Sensors and cameras have spots in which
the surrounding area cannot be detected.
Objects, animals, and people may only be
detected with limitations or may not be de-
tected at all. Always monitor the traffic sit-
uation and the vehicle's surroundings direct-
ly and do not become distracted.
– The Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC)
must not be turned off during the parking
process. If the ESC intervenes, the parking
process will be canceled.
– You can also drive into a perpendicular park-
ing space yourself and then activate the sys-
tem. If this is the case, the front of the vehi-

vehicle, when snow chains are mounted, or
when the parking space is on a hill or in-
cline.
cle should already be in the space

ðpage 170, fig. 134 so that the sensors
can measure the space.
– The system is not available when certain as-
sist systems are turned on.
– Park assist guides the vehicle either away
from curbs or onto them if other vehicles
are parked on the curb. Make sure that your
vehicle's tires and rims are not damaged.
Resume control of the vehicle in time or
stop the process of parking or exiting the
parking space.
– If there are suitable parking spaces on both
sides of the street, for example on a one-
way street, you can change the side where
the system is searching for parking spaces
by activating the turn signal for the other
side or by pressing on that side in the center
display.
Tips
– The parking systems do not support assist-
ed parking on steep inclines or on tight
curves.
Follow the legal regulations in the country
where you are located when using Park assist.
