For some items, you can access additional op-  
tions that are not directly visible.  
General touch display

The touch display is controlled through the  
touchscreen. Operation is very similar to operat-  
ing a smartphone.  
All touch displays in the vehicle can be operated  
with the gestures described in the following in-  
formation.  
Tips  
Certain gestures may not be available on all  
touch displays or in every menu.

Pressing

Moving an item  
Some items can be placed in any location.  
Press and hold an item, and then use your fin-  
ger to pull it to the desired location.  
Creating and deleting folders  
To create a folder, press and hold an item and  
drag it onto another one. The folder will be cre-  
ated and a name fitting the category will be as-  
signed ðpage 25.

To delete a folder, move all items out of the  
folder.  
Selecting a function or button

Turning on or off  
Turning the MMI on or off  
Press the Date & time button.  
To turn off the MMI, press and hold the MMI  
control knob ðpage 33, fig. 20 until the up-  
per display and all Infotainment system func-  
tions are turned off.  
To turn on the MMI, press the MMI control  
knob.  
Tips  
If a menu or symbol is in parentheses in the  
path, for example, (General) or (), then it is  
an optional menu item that does not need to  
be used in every system.  
Restarting the MMI  
Settings  
Press and hold the MMI control knob for at  
least 10 seconds.  
Applies to MMI: Select on the home screen:  
SETTINGS > Display & Brightness > MMI.  
Turning displays on or off  
Possible settings:  
To turn off the upper display, press on the  
lower display.  
To turn on the upper display, touch the upper  
display or press on the lower display.

Information about traffic safety  
Introduction  
Audi recommends only using certain Infotain-  
ment system functions while the vehicle is sta-  
tionary, such as entering a destination or pairing  
a mobile device. Be prepared to stop operating  
the Infotainment system at any time in the inter-  
est of your safety and the safety of other road  
users.  
You can display and operate Infotainment system  
and vehicle functions using both of the Multi Me-  
dia Interface (MMI) touch displays.  
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you may be  
able to download other apps in addition to the  
ones that are preinstalled ðpage 209.  
WARNING  
Configuration wizard  
Only use the Infotainment system when  
road, traffic, weather, and visibility condi-  
tions permit and always in a way that allows  
you to maintain complete control over your  
vehicle.  
After starting for the first time, the configuration  
wizard helps you to set up the vehicle, for exam-  
ple to set the desired system language and con-  
nect a phone.  
Follow the instructions in the display.  
This also applies to operating your mobile  
device via the MMI. Do not allow the visual  
or audio signals from a mobile device to dis-  
tract you from traffic, because this increases  
the risk of an accident.  
Applies to: MMI: To access the configuration  
wizard at a later time, select on the home  
screen: HELP > Configuration wizard.

Tool tips  
Online Owner's Manual  
Applies to: vehicles with Online Owner's Manual  
You can have tool tips displayed if necessary.  
They introduce various MMI functions to you.  
The Online Owner's Manual can be accessed di-  
rectly from the Owner's Manual in the Infotain-  
ment system ðpage 6.  
Applies to: MMI: To open the tool tips, select on  
the home screen: HELP > Tool tips > Basic in-  
formation or Expert information.

Opening the global text search  
Description of common symbols  
You can operate the standard functions using the  
symbols listed. The symbols may be found in any  
menu, depending on the context.  
Depending on vehicle equipment, you can use the  
global text search to search the MMI for key  
words.  
Open the overview screen and swipe your finger  
to the right.

Overview screen  
Press Done to complete the configuration.  
The overview screen is the first menu page in the  
MMI. Information tiles display specific informa-  
tion about certain vehicle functions, such as me-  
dia. If you are logged in with your myAudi user,  
the overview screen may contain personalized in-  
formation depending on vehicle equipment, such  
as recently used apps. The MMI will display and  
arrange personalized information automatically.  
Tips  
The position of cannot be adjusted.

Switching between menu pages  
Description  
If a menu contains multiple menu pages, is  
displayed in the display area. The white bar  
shows the location of the current menu page.  
Privacy settings are enabled. The additional  
symbol indicates which privacy settings are  
currently activated ðpage 322.

The Integrated Toll Module is turned on.  
The numbers 1 - 3+ indicate how many pas-  
sengers are selected in the MMI.  
To switch between menu pages, swipe your fin-  
ger to the right or left.

The symbols in the status bar show you informa-  
tion at a glance, such as if a mobile device is con-  
nected or if there is a data connection. The most  
common symbols are listed in the table.

Notifications from the Audi system and Audi con-  
nect apps can be displayed in the upper display.  
They will be hidden after a certain period of time  
and a symbol for them will appear in the status  
bar 5 ðpage 24, fig. 14. In the notification cen-  
ter, you can view these notifications 2 ðfig. 16  
and apply quick settings 1 .

quick settings may be available in area 1 :  
A button in the upper display indicates, for ex-  
ample, if a selected radio station can be added to  
the shortcuts. Depending on the context, you  
may also be able to add items from a list to the  
shortcuts.
