conditions may not be good enough, or a sensor
may be obstructed. Clean the area in front of the
sensors ðpage 135. Try switching on the system
later or after the vehicle is next switched on.
If the parking aid is deactivated, it is only reacti-
vated automatically if one of the following condi-
tions has been met:
– The vehicle is driven faster than 10 km/h.
– The vehicle is switched off and on again.
– The parking brake is applied and released
again.
If a fault persists, drive to a qualified workshop
soon and have it rectified.
– Transmission position P is selected and then
another position is selected.

surround view cameras

Depending on the vehicle’s equipment, a revers-
ing camera or multiple surround view cameras
may be available:

– The reversing camera assists you by displaying
orientation lines when you are parking or ma-
noeuvring the vehicle.
– Sensors have certain areas in which they
cannot detect the surroundings. Objects, an-
imals and persons in these areas may be de-
tected only to a limited extent or not at all.
Always monitor the road and the area
around the vehicle; do not rely on the sen-
sors alone, and do not allow yourself to be-
come distracted.
– The surround view cameras additionally pro-
vide a wide range of views showing the area
around the vehicle; these can be selected as
preferred.

If appears, the sensor in the corresponding
area or the loudspeaker is faulty. Drive to a quali-
fied workshop soon and have the fault rectified.

– The sensors and cameras have certain areas
in which they cannot detect the surround-
ings. Objects, animals and persons in these
areas may be detected only to a limited ex-
tent or not at all. Always monitor the road
and the area around the vehicle; do not rely
on the sensors alone, and do not allow your-
self to become distracted.
If appears, the parking aid is not available be-
cause the vehicle is travelling too fast.
If is shown on the centre display, the corre-
sponding ultrasonic sensor is iced up or dirty.

If a pink or black surface is displayed instead of
the parking aid in the event of a fault, the system
is briefly unavailable.

the parking aid functions are unavailable or re-
stricted.
A driver message indicating the cause and possi-
ble remedy may appear for some of the displays.
