functions
Adaptive cruise assist
Always keep your hands on the steering wheel
and be ready to steer at all times. As the driver
you are always responsible for adhering to the lo-
cally applicable laws and regulations.
Introduction
Depending on the vehicle’s equipment, the adap-
tive cruise assist combines the predictive cruise
control ðpage 156 and the lane guidance func-
tion ðpage 144 with the functions of the adap-
tive cruise control ðpage 150.
WARNING
Please note the safety precautions and system
limits of the supporting systems, sensors and
cameras ðpage 130 to ðpage 132.
The displays for the availability and status are the

– The adaptive cruise assist serves as a driver
assist system. However, the driver still
maintains full responsibility for the opera-
tion of the vehicle. This applies in particular
to braking, steering, driving off and control-
ling the vehicle’s speed and distance to oth-
er vehicles.
– Only switch on the adaptive cruise assist in
situations where it is safe to do so. Always
adjust your driving style to suit the visibility,
weather, road and traffic conditions.
– When you take a turn-off or drive along a
motorway exit lane, please temporarily
switch off the adaptive cruise assist. This is
to ensure that the vehicle does not acceler-
ate to the cruising speed in such situations.
If a fault persists, drive to a qualified workshop
soon and have it rectified.
