LED on charging unit
Meaning
Charging connector may not be properly locked in vehicle charg-
ing socket. Check that the charging connector is plugged in cor-
rectly. Unplug the charging connector, plug it into the charging
socket again and press it gently upwards for 5 seconds. Alterna-
tively, try using a different charging station. If the LED remains
lit, there is a malfunction in the vehicle charging system or pow-
er source. Seek professional assistance if necessary.

If the charging connector cannot be removed af-
ter the manual release procedure, there is still a
malfunction. At temperatures below freezing,
the charging connector may be frozen. In this
case, you should seek professional assistance.

Manual release
Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive
CAUTION
Stop pulling the ring when you feel resistance
(the release mechanism is not audible). Oth-
erwise, you could damage the manual release
mechanism.

If the indicator lamp

range is low or very low. Charge the high-voltage
battery.
Releasing the charging flap manually

If you cannot open the charging flap, seek pro-
fessional assistance.
Then drive to a qualified workshop and have the
fault rectified.

Selecting a charging mode
You can select whether your vehicle should be
charged immediately or with a time delay.
Releasing the charging connector manually
If you cannot remove the charging connector
from the vehicle charging socket, a fault may
have occurred. The vehicle charging connector
will have to be released manually.
Immediate charging mode
The charging cycle begins immediately when the
charging connector is plugged in and when the
charging station is activated (if applicable).
Important: Transmission position P must be se-
lected and the vehicle must be unlocked.
