Locking
1. Close the driver's door.

Press and hold: panic mode
All doors, the tailgate, and the fuel filler flap
are being locked.
Unlocking
▷
With anti-theft protection: Anti-theft pro‐
tection is switched on. It prevents the
doors from being unlocked using the lock
buttons or the door openers.
Press button on the remote control.
Depending on the settings, refer to page 44,
the following access points are unlocked.

The alarm system, refer to page 45, is
switched on.
▷
Driver's door and fuel filler flap.
If the engine or ignition is still switched on
when you lock the vehicle, the vehicle horn
honks twice. In this case, the engine or ignition
must be switched off by means of the Start/
Stop button.
Press the button of the remote control
again to unlock the other vehicle access
points.

All doors, tailgate, and fuel filler flap.
In addition, the following functions are exe‐
cuted:
Lock

The settings saved in the driver profile, re‐
fer to page 42, are applied.
Press button on the remote control with
the vehicle locked.

The interior lights and courtesy lights are
activated. This function is not available, if
the interior lights were switched off man‐
ually.
This function is not available, if the interior
lamps were switched off manually.
The light functions may depend on the ambi‐
ent brightness.

The welcome lights are switched on, if this
function was activated.
If the button is pressed again within 10 sec‐
onds after vehicle was locked, the interior mo‐
tion sensor and tilt alarm sensor of the anti-
theft warning system, refer to page 46, are
turned off. After locking, wait 10 seconds be‐
fore pressing the button again.
With anti-theft protection: Anti-theft pro‐
tection is switched off.
The alarm system, refer to page 45, is
switched off.
The light functions may depend on the ambi‐
ent brightness.
Tailgate
Convenient opening
General information
Press and hold this button on the re‐
mote control after unlocking.
To avoid locking it in the vehicle, do not place
the remote control in the cargo area.
Depending on your vehicle's equipment and
the country version, it is possible to specify
whether the doors are also unlocked when un‐
locking with the remote control. Adjusting the
settings, refer to page 44.
The windows are opened, the glass sunroof is
tilted and the sliding visor moves back, as long
as the button on the remote control is pressed.
