PRACTICAL ADVICE for Your Citroen C6 4 Door Second Generation (2016-2023)

FUEL
FUEL QUALITY
A label inside the ller ap tells you
which type of fuel to use.
V
A
Quality of the fuel used for
Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly
compatible with biofuels which
conform to current and future
European standards (Diesel fuel
which complies with standard EN
590 mixed with a biofuel which
complies with standard EN 14214)
which can be distributed at the
pumps (possible incorporation of
0 to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The use of any other type of (bio)
fuel (vegetable or animal oils,
domestic fuel oil, etc.) is strictly
prohibited (risk of damage to the
engine and fuel circuit).
A
While you are refuelling, the
engine must be stopped and the
ignition switched off.
When you are seeking to ll your
tank, do not persist after the
third cut-off; that could cause
your vehicle to malfunction.
Fuel must be added in quantities
of more than 5 litres to be recog-
nised by the fuel gauge.
To open the ap, press button A
Undo the cap and attach it to the
tab on the inside of the ap.
Opening the cap can trigger a vac-
uum. This results in a noise caused
by the sealing of the fuel circuit.
Note: The fuel ap is locked when
you lock your vehicle with the
remote control.
If you should put in fuel that is not suitable for your vehicle's
engine type, it is imperative to have the tank drained before
you start the engine again.

Note: In some climatic condi-
tions, condensation can appear in
the lighting/signalling units. This
is normal and should disappear
after a while (when the functions
have been on for a few minutes for
example).
If this is not the case, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualied
workshop.
For repairs to the front lamp units
and for bulb replacement, contact
a CITROËN dealer or a qualied
workshop. The bulbs for lamps D
and E have a common bulb-
holder.
Your headlamps have Xenon bulbs.
Because of the risk of electrocution, we recommend that
you contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualied workshop in the
event of a fault.
It is recommended to change both bulbs at the same time if
there is a failure of one of them.
Your vehicle is equipped with an active bonnet. To ensure the
correct operation of this safety equipment, contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualied workshop for the replacement of any part of
the front panel.

SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
MAINTENANCE
if cleaning the vehicle with a high
pressure system
TOWBAR
(Boat, caravan, etc.)
It is recommended that towbar
installation and removal be done
by a CITROËN dealer or a quali-
ed workshop.
If you are climbing a steep gradient
and the engine gets excessively
hot, certain functions become una-
vailable (e.g. sequential control of
the automatic gearbox, the air con-
ditioning).
If you are towing, it is necesaary
to deactivate the parking assist-
ance by pressing the control on the
dashboard. See "Parking assist-
ance".
V
Your Piloted Deector has to
be closed.
It is not advisable to clean the
underside of the vehicle, for
fear of damaging the electric
parking brake.
As water may penetrate into
the vehicle interior via the door
apertures, do not target these
r
.
Do not direct at the headlamps,
lamps and their edges for too
long or you may damage their
coating and seals.
It is recommended that you remove
the towing ball, so that it does not
interfere with the functioning of the
proximity sensors, when you are
not using a trailer.
A
Dimensions (in metres):
A: 0.971
It is recommended that towbar installation and removal be
done by a CITROËN dealer or a qualied workshop.
If you are towing another vehicle, the latter must be free-
wheeling (gearbox in neutral).
138
ROOF BARS
IMPORTANT
For your safety and to avoid damage to the roof, you should use roof bars that are tested and approved by CITROËN
for the design of your particular vehicle.
V
INSTALLATION
Four xing points are provided on your vehicle.
Recommendations:
Spread the load evenly, avoiding overloading on
one side.
Position the heaviest weight as low down as pos-
sible.
Tie the load down securely and add warning signs
if it is protruding.
Drive conservatively, as the vehicle will be more
vulnerable to side winds.
The stability of your vehicle may be altered.
Remove the roof rack or roof bars when you are
not using them.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted
load.
For the maximum distributed load on the
roof bars: see the chapter "General".

2. It is essential to make sure that the occupants have left the vehicle and
are in a place where their safety is guaranteed.
3. With the engine idling, adjust the ground clearance to maximum height.
See "Comfort" and "Ground clearance adjustment". Switch off the igni-
tion and engage rst gear or reverse gear depending on any slope (for
a vehicle with automatic gearbox, select position P).
4. Position the chock at the wheel that is diametrically opposite the one to
be replaced.
5. Position the jack at one of the four jacking-points provided on the sub-
frame close to the wheels, then use the handle to unwind the jack until
it reaches the ground.
6. Slide the removal tool 4 into the notch and lever vigorously to detach
the anti-theft bolt protector. See illustration. You can use the handle at
the extremity of the tool 4
7. Slacken the wheel bolts.
8. Continue to extend the jack until the wheel is a few centimetres off the
ground.
9. Undo the bolts, remove the wheel.
Before positioning the jack, always adjust the vehicle's ground
clearance to the "maximum height" position and retain this
adjustment for as long as the jack is under the vehicle (do not
use the hydraulic adjustments).
Never get underneath the vehicle if it is supported only by the
jack.
The jack and all the tools are designed specicallyfor use on your
particular vehicle. Do not use them for any other applications.
Have the original wheel repaired and refitted as soon as
possible.

6. Return the ground clearance
to the normal position. See
"Ground clearance adjustment".
7. Ensure the tyre pressure
is correct (see "Vehicle
identication") and have the
balancing checked.
If your vehicle is equipped with a
spare wheel for temporary use
only, when tting it it is normal to
observe that the wheel bolts do not
come to bear on the wheel rim.
The spare wheel is secured by the
conical tapering of the wheel bolt’s
shaft. See illustration.
When retting the original wheel,
ensure that the wheel bolt contact
surfaces are clean and in good
condition.
2. Use the anti-theft socket with
the handle.
It is imperative not to exceed a speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) on
the spare wheel.
The wheel bolts are specic to the type of wheel.
When replacing wheels, check with a CITROËN dealer or a
qualied workshop that the wheel bolts are compatible with
the new wheels.
Note: take care to note down the code number engraved on the
head of the anti-theft bolt socket. This will enable you to obtain
replacement anti-theft bolt sockets from a dealership.
143
ADVICE
Towing at low speed over a very
short distance is authorised in
exceptional cases depending on
the regulations in force.
V
Otherwise, it is necessary to
have your vehicle transported
