• To engage the gears, press the clutch pedal fully and shift the gear lever
into the required position.
• Reverse can only be engaged when the car is completely stationary. With the
engine running, wait for at least 2 seconds with the clutch pedal fully
pressed before engaging reverse, to prevent damage to the gears and grating.
• To engage reverse R from neutral, lift the sliding ring under the knob and
shift the lever to the right and back.
NOTE: do not drive with your foot resting on the clutch pedal, however lightly.

STEERING WHEEL LEVERS (for versions/markets, where provided)
• The gearbox can be managed sequentially
using the steering wheel controls.
• To use the steering wheel controls, the
gear lever must be in the middle position
between + and –.
• Move the steering wheel lever towards + to
engage a higher gear.
• Move the lever towards – to engage a lower
gear.
NOTE: the engagement of a lower (or higher) gear is only permitted if the engine
speed allows it.
NOTE: for the correct use of the system only use your right foot to operate the
pedal unit.
AUTOMATIC OPERATION (AUTO - ECO)
• The ECO (Economy) function allows fuel consumption to be limited. The ECO
function is engaged by pressing button E, located on the trim next to the gear
control lever. After this function has been activated, the display will show
the gear engaged, AUTO and E.
• In vehicles equipped with a 0.9 TwinAir engine, the ECO button is located on
the instrument panel and also activates the Dualogic function.
• See the Owner Handbook on the DVD for further details.
