the latter. For safe driving, the car must
be fitted with tyres of the same make

with tubeless tyres. The M+S tyres

where provided) are characterised by

certifies that the tyre has passed the
specific approval test required by
European Community Regulation ECE

on snow than a "simple" M+S.

tyres. Their usage should therefore be
restricted in accordance with their type
approval.

Using snow chains with tyres with non-
original dimensions may damage the
car. Using different size or type (M+S,
etc.) tyres between front and rear axle
may adversely affect car handling, with
the risk of losing control of the car and
resulting accidents.
15 fitting diameter in inches
(corresponds to the diameter of the tyre
to be fitted) ((3) = Ø).
WARNING When using winter tyres
with a maximum speed index below
the one that can be reached by the car
(increased by 5%), place a warning in
the passenger compartment, plainly in
view, which states the maximum speed
allowed by the snow tyres (as per
EC Directive). All four tyres should be
the same (brand and track) to ensure
greater safety when driving and braking
as well as a good manoeuvrability.
Remember that you should not change
the rotation direction of the tyres.
H2shape and number of "humps"
(circumference measurement which
keeps the bead of tubeless tyres in
position on the rim).
Snow chains cannot be fitted
to the space-saver wheel (for
versions/markets, where provided). If a
front tyre is punctured, replace a rear
wheel with the space-saver wheel and
move the rear wheel to the front axle. In
this way, with two normal drive wheels
at the front, snow chains can be fitted.
WINTER TYRES
Use winter tyres of the same size as
the standard tyres provided with the
car.
The Fiat Dealership will be happy to
provide advice concerning the most
suitable type of tyre for the customer's
requirements.
RIM PROTECTOR TYRES
188)
SNOW CHAINS
For the type of winter tyre to be
used, inflation pressures and the
specifications of winter tyres,
follow the instructions given in the
"Wheels" chapter in the "Technical
specifications" section.
185) 186) 187)
70)
Warnings
The use of snow chains should be in
compliance with local regulations of
each country. In certain countries,
tyres marked with code M+S (Mud
and Snow) are considered as winter
equipment; therefore their use is
equivalent to that of the snow chains.
The snow chains may be applied only
to the front wheel tyres.
The winter features of these tyres are
reduced considerably when the tread
depth is below 4 mm. Replace them in
this case.
177
F1D0797
Due to the specific characteristics
of winter tyres, in normal weather
conditions or on long motorway
journeys, the performance of these
tyres is lower than that of standard
Check the tension of the snow chains
after the first few feet/meters have been
driven.
174
wheels that could cause chain breakage,
resulting in damage to the vehicle body or
mechanical components.
WARNING
183) The top speed for winter tyres
marked “Q” is 160 km/h, while it is 190
km/h for “T” tyres and 210 km/h for "H"
tyres. The highway code speed limits must
however always be complied with.
184) 175/65 R14 86T XL tyres can be
fitted with reduced size snow chains:
9 mm
185) The 175/65 R15 88T/88T XL and
175/65 R15 84H tyres can be fitted with
low-profile snow chains: 7 mm
186) Keep the vehicle's speed down when
snow chains are fitted; never exceed 50
km/h. Avoid potholes, do not drive over
steps or pavements and do not drive long
distances over roads without snow, to
avoid damaging both your vehicle and the
road surface.
187) DO NOT fit wheel hub caps when
using integral hub caps fixed (with
springs) to the steel rim and after sale
tyres provided with Rim Protector. Use
of unsuitable tyres and wheel caps may
cause sudden decrease of tyre pressure.
188) DO NOT fit wheel caps when using
integral wheel caps fixed (with springs) to
the steel rim and after sale tyres provided
with Rim Protector (fig. 177). Use of
unsuitable tyres and wheel caps may
cause sudden decrease of tyre pressure.
IMPORTANT
70) With snow chains, use the accelerator
with extreme care to prevent, or to limit
as much as possible, slipping of the drive

the agility of the vehicle. No fault/alarm signal is displayed on the instrument panel or on the display.

COLD TYRE INFLATION PRESSURE (bar)
When the tires are warm, the inflation pressure should be + 0.3 bar in relation to the recommended figure. However, recheck
that the value is correct with the tyre cold. With winter tyres, add +0.2 bar to the pressure value prescribed for standard tyres.

NOTE For Panda Cross 4x4 and Panda 4x4 versions, do not drive deliberately for long distances with the tyres flat (not at the
prescribed pressure) and/or with greatly varying pressures between front axle and rear axle, in order to avoid any malfunction of
the 4x4 drive.
