Child safety -> Child seat positioning for Your Ford Ka 2 Door First Generation (1996-2008)

Child safety  
Children under approximately four  
Child restraints for different  
mass groups  
years and weighing between 13 and  
18 kg should be carried in child  
safety seats in the rear seat.  
The correct restraint to be used  
depends on the childs age and  
weight:  
CHILD SEAT  
POSITIONING  
Baby safety seat  
WARNINGS  
If your Ford vehicle is equipped  
with a front passenger airbag,  
children of height 150 cm or under or  
aged 12 years and under must only  
be properly restrained in the rear seat  
never in the front.  
Extreme Hazard! Do not use a  
rearward facing child restraint  
on a seat protected by an airbag in  
front of it!

Note: If individual circumstances  
require that a child must travel in a  
front seat protected by a front airbag,  
only use a forward facing restraint  
and move the seat as far rearward  
as possible.  
Babies under approximately two  
years and weighing less than 13 kg  
should be carried in rearward facing  
baby safety seatsin the rear seat.

To use a child restraint in the front  
BOOSTER CUSHIONS  
make sure the passenger airbag  
de-activation switch is turned to the  
OFF position. See Disabling the  
passenger airbag (page 17). Move  
the seat as far rearward as possible.
