Vehicle battery for Your Ford Ka 2 Door First Generation (1996-2008)

Vehicle battery  
To connect the booster  
BATTERY CARE  
cables  
The battery requires very little  
maintenance. The fluid level is  
checked regularly during the routine  
service inspections.  
USING BOOSTER  
CABLES  
Connect batteries with only the same  
nominal voltage (12 volts). Use  
booster cables with insulated clamps  
and adequate size cable. Do not  
disconnect the battery from the  
vehicles electrical system.

Booster battery  
Position the vehicles so that they  
do not touch one another.  
Switch off the engine and any  
electrical equipment.

Vehicle battery  
Connect the positive (+) terminal  
of the flat battery in the engine  
compartment of your vehicle A  
with the positive (+) terminal of the  
battery of the other vehicle B  
(cable 1).  
Connect the second lead to the  
negative . Connect one end of the  
second lead to the negative ()  
terminal of the booster battery A  
and the other end as far away  
from the battery as possible to the  
engine block or the engine mount  
of the engine to be started B  
(cable 2). Do not connect to  
the negative () terminal of  
the flat battery.  
Make sure that the jump leads are  
clear of any moving parts.  
To start the engine  
Run the engine of the vehicle with  
the booster battery at moderately  
high speed.  
Start the engine of the vehicle with  
the flat battery.  
Run both vehicles for a minimum  
of 3 minutes before disconnecting  
the leads.  
WARNING  
Do not switch on the headlamps  
when disconnecting the cables.  
The peak voltage could blow the  
bulbs.  
Disconnect the cables in the  
reverse order.
