Vehicles with an automatic transmission must
not be tow-started.
If the newly inserted fuse also blows, have the
cause traced and rectiꢀed at a qualiꢀed specialist
workshop.

Only use fuses that have been approved
by Mercedes-Benz and which have the
correct fuse rating.
Ensure the following before replacing a fuse:
Electrical fuses
Blown fuses must be replaced with fuses of the
same rating, which you can recognize by the color
and the label. The fuse ratings and further infor-
mation to be observed can be found in the fuse
assignment diagram.

The electrical fuses are located in various fuse
boxes:
Fuse assignment diagram: on the fuse box in the
engine compartment (/ page 289).
If you manipulate or bridge a faulty fuse or if
you replace it with a fuse with a higher amper-
age, the electric line could be overloaded.

When the fuse box is open, make sure
that no moisture can enter the fuse box.

NOTE Damage due to incorrect fuses

When closing the fuse box, make sure
that the seal of the lid is positioned cor-
rectly on the fuse box.
Electrical components or systems may be
damaged by incorrect fuses, or their function-
ality may be signiꢀcantly impaired.
