Display messages  
Introduction  
You can hide low-priority display messages by  
pressing the back button P or the leꢂ-hand  
Touch Control. The display messages will then be  
stored in the message memory.  
Notes about display messages  
Display messages appear on the instrument dis-  
play.  
Display messages with graphic symbols are sim-  
pliꢀed in the Operator's Manual and may diꢁer  
from the symbols on the instrument display. The  
instrument display shows high-priority display  
messages in red. Certain display messages are  
accompanied by a warning tone.  
Rectify the cause of a display message as quickly  
as possible.  
High-priority display messages cannot be hidden.  
The instrument display will show these display  
messages permanently until the cause of the dis-  
play message has been rectiꢀed.  
Please act in accordance with the display mes-  
sages and follow the additional notes in the Oper-  
ator's Manual.

* The front passenger airbag and the front passenger knee airbag have been disabled even though an adult or a person  
of adult build is on the front passenger seat. If additional forces are applied to the seat, the weight the system detects  
may be too low.

WARNING Risk of injury or fatal injury due to a disabled front passenger airbag  
If the front passenger airbag is disabled, the front passenger airbag will not be deployed in the event of an accident  
and cannot perform its intended protective function.  
A person in the front passenger seat could then, for example, come into contact with the vehicle's interior, espe-  
cially if the person is sitting too close to the cockpit.  
#
Make sure, both before and during the journey, that the status of the front passenger airbag is correct.  
#
Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traꢃc conditions.  
Make sure that no objects are trapped under the front passenger seat.  
Check the status of automatic front passenger airbag shutoꢁ (/ page 47).  
If necessary, consult a qualiꢀed specialist workshop immediately.

WARNING Risk of injury or death when using a child restraint system while the front passenger airbag is ena-  
bled  
If you secure a child in a child restraint system on the front passenger seat and the front passenger airbag is ena-  
bled, the front passenger airbag can deploy in the event of an accident.  
The child could be struck by the airbag.

Ensure, both before and during the journey, that the status of the front passenger airbag is correct.  
NEVER use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an ACTIVE AIRBAG in front of it, DEATH or  
SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD can occur.

Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traꢃc conditions.  
Make sure that no objects are trapped under the front passenger seat.  
Check the status of automatic front passenger airbag shutoꢁ (/ page 47).

If the electric parking brake is not applied automatically:

Release and then apply the electric parking brake manually (/ page 153).  
If it is still not possible to apply the electric parking brake:
