fuel, observe the following:
R
At a qualiꢀed specialist workshop
Depending on the country, the fuels you can use
in your vehicle may diꢂer from the information in
the Operator's Manual. The fuels that have been
approved for your vehicle can be found on the
instruction label on the inside of the fuel ꢀller ꢁap.

NOTE Premature engine wear through
unleaded regular gasoline
Notes on fuel quality for vehicles with a gasoline
engine
If you have accidentally refueled with the
wrong fuel:
Impairment of the longevity and performance
of the engine.
Note the instructions about operating ꢁuids
(/ page 328).
#
Do not switch on the vehicle.
If unleaded premium grade gasoline is unavail-
able and you have to refuel using unleaded
regular gasoline:
#
Consult a qualiꢀed specialist workshop.
*
NOTE Damage caused by the wrong fuel
If the available fuel is not suꢃciently low in sulfur,
this can produce unpleasant odors.
Even small amounts of the wrong fuel could
result in damage to the fuel system, the
engine and the emission control system.
#
Only ꢀll the fuel tank to half full with
unleaded regular gasoline and reꢀll as
soon as possible with unleaded premium
grade gasoline.
Only refuel with fuel that has at least the octane
number speciꢀed in the information label in the
fuel ꢀller ꢁap. Otherwise, engine output can be
reduced and fuel consumption increased.
#
Only refuel with low-sulfur spark-ignition
engine fuel.
#
Do not drive at the maximum design
speed.
For maximum engine output: Only refuel using
premium-grade unleaded gasoline with at least
91 AKI/95 RON.
This fuel may contain up to 10% ethanol by vol-
ume. Your vehicle is suitable for use with E10
fuel.
#
Avoid sudden acceleration and engine
speeds over 3000 rpm.
If the recommended fuel is not available, you may
also temporarily use regular unleaded gasoline
with an octane number of at least 87 AKI/
91 RON. This may reduce engine output and
increase fuel consumption.
Never refuel with one of the following fuels:

lowing locations:

Engine oil
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use brand-
name fuels with additives.
#
Do not use engine oils or oil ꢀlters other
than those which meet the speciꢀcations
necessary for the prescribed service
intervals.
Notes on engine oil
Observe the notes on operating ꢁuids
(/ page 328).
In some countries, the fuel available may not have
suꢃcient additives. Deposits could build up in the
fuel injection system as a result. In this case, in
consultation with an authorized Mercedes-Benz
Center, mix the fuel with the cleaning additive rec-
ommended by Mercedes-Benz. Observe the notes
and mixing ratios indicated on the tank.
#
Do not alter the engine oil or oil ꢀlter in
order to achieve longer change intervals
than prescribed.
#
#
Do not use additives.
Have the engine oil changed aꢄer the
prescribed intervals.

WARNING ‑ Risk of ꢀre and injury from
antifreeze
&
WARNING Risk of an accident due to
vapor pockets forming in the brake system
* Recommended for the lowest possible fuel con-
sumption.
If antifreeze comes into contact with hot com-
ponent parts in the engine compartment, it
may ignite.
The brake ꢁuid constantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake ꢁuid. If the boiling point is too low,
vapor pockets may form in the brake system
when the brakes are applied hard.
To achieve the lowest possible fuel consumption,
it is recommended to use the engine oil speciꢀca-
tions marked in the table for the lowest SAE vis-
cosity class. Observe any possible restrictions of
the approved SAE viscosity classes.
#
Allow the engine to cool down before
adding antifreeze.
#
Make sure that no antifreeze spills out
next to the ꢀller opening.
This causes the braking eꢂect to be impaired.
#
Have the brake ꢁuid renewed at the
speciꢀed intervals.
#
Thoroughly clean oꢂ any antifreeze from
component parts before starting the
vehicle.

NOTE Damage caused by incorrect cool-
ant
WARNING ‑ Risk of ꢀre and injury from
windshield washer concentrate
#
Windshield washer concentrate is highly ꢁam-
mable. It could ignite if it comes into contact
with hot engine component parts or the
exhaust system.
Only use coolant that has been premixed
with the required antifreeze protection.
Have the coolant regularly replaced at a qualiꢀed
specialist workshop.
Information on coolant is available at the fol-
lowing locations:

Make sure that no windshield washer
concentrate spills out next to the ꢀller
opening.
