NOTE
Vehicle damage if the maximum permissible clearance is not
observed
If the vehicle height exceeds the maximum permissible clearance, the
roof and other vehicle parts may be damaged.
Owing to the permissible tolerances, the height of vehicles with a wheel
diameter larger than 45.7 cm (18") may exceed 2 m.
#
Observe the clearance on the signs.
#
If the permissible clearance is exceeded, do not enter.
#
Be mindful of the vehicle height, especially with roof attach‐
ments, other carrier systems or large wheel diameters.
All the height figures below refer to vehicles with a wheel diameter of
45.7 cm (18").
The minimum ground clearance applies to vehicles with permissible gross
vehicle weight.

PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING NOTES FOR THE SPECIFIED VEHICLE
DATA:
R
Optional extras increase the kerb weight and reduce the payload.
R
Vehicle-specific weight information can be found on the vehicle identifi‐
cation plate (/page703).
R
Carrying a roof load is not permitted.
Maximum design speed
The maximum design speed can differ from the stated figures in practice. It
depends on the operating conditions, the special equipment and the size of
the tyres.

FORDING
*
NOTE
Damage caused by water during fording
WATER CAN ENTER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND VEHICLE
INTERIOR IN THE FOLLOWING CASES:
R
The maximum permissible fording depth when driving through
standing water is exceeded.
R
A bow wave forms during fording.
R
Water accumulates when passing through flowing water bodies.
#
Do not exceed the maximum permissible fording depth.
#
Drive through the water slowly.
#
Driving through flowing water reduces the permissible fording
depth due to the accumulation of water.
The specified value indicates the maximum permissible fording depth for vehi‐
cles in ready-to-drive condition– incl. all service fluids and driver. It applies to
slow driving through standing water.
Driving through flowing water reduces tyre traction. The permissible fording
depth is then correspondingly lower.
Observe the notes on off-road driving and fording (/page267).

ANGLE OF APPROACH/DEPARTURE
The specified values are maximum values for vehicles that are ready to drive
– incl. all service fluids and driver. The values depend on the vehicle tyres and
vehicle weight.

MAXIMUM GRADEABILITY
The vehicle's gradeability depends on the weight distribution in the vehicle,
the terrain conditions and the road surface conditions.
THE SPECIFIED VALUE APPLIES UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
R
The vehicle is in ready-to-drive condition– incl. all service fluids and
driver.
R
The LOW RANGE off-road gear is engaged.
R
The surface conditions of the ground are good, enabling good traction.
A gradeability of 100% corresponds to an incline of 45°.

In addition, charging stations in European countries are equipped with energy
supply identifiers. You can recharge your vehicle at charging stations where
the charging station identifier corresponds to the vehicle identifier.

Mode 3 charging time – applies to AC charging from 0% to 100% of the
usable energy content.
Mode 4 charging time – applies to DC charging from 10% to 80% of the
usable energy content.
The time it takes to charge the battery depends on the state of health of the
battery, the ambient temperature and the charging power of the battery. The
charging capacity, in turn, depends on the supply voltage, the current and the
type of power supply.
The rated voltage range for your vehicle can be found on the information label
in the socket flap (/page287).
