CHECK (VEHICLE AUTOTEST)

THE INSTRUMENT PANEL  
Braking system warning  
lamp  
Manual CHECK  
With the key in the ignition on position,  
all of the warning lamps of the func-  
tions tested are displayed. They are  
switched off after a few seconds.  
This indicates:  
parking brake applied or not fully  
released,  
-
Atthesametime, anautomaticCHECK  
(vehicle autotest) is carried out.  
-
an excessive drop in the brake flu-  
id level, in this case linked with the  
STOP warning lamp,  
-
an electronic brake force distribu-  
tion malfunction, linked with the  
STOP warning lamp.  
No "major" fault has been de-  
tected: the CHECK OK indi-  
cator lamp is displayed after  
two seconds.  
The warning lamp is repea-ted  
on the instrument panel screen  
in the case of the last 2 faults.  
You can start your vehicle.  
Pressing the "CHECK/000" button on  
the instrument panel starts the manual  
CHECK (vehicle autotest).  
This function enables you to find out, at  
any time (with the key in the ignition on  
position or with the engine running):  
Stop immediately in the two latter  
cases. Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.  
In the presence of a fault  
A "minor" fault has been detected:  
when the CHECK OK indicator lamp  
has been displayed, the warning  
lamp(s) is(are) displayed.  
You can start your vehicle; however,  
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon  
as possible.

the warnings present,  
-
the status of the functions activated  
or deactivated (wipers, automatic  
illumination of headlamps).  
Seat belt warning lamp  
A "major" fault has been detected:  
the CHECK OK indicator lamp does  
not appear and the warning lamp(s)  
is(are) displayed.  
Do not start your vehicle.  
Call a PEUGEOT dealer without delay.  
With the engine running and the ve-  
hicle moving, the instrument panel  
screen displays the warning lamps  
(in the event of a fault).  
When the ignition is switched on, the  
warning lamp comes on if a front oc-  
cupant has not fastened or has unfas-  
tened their seat belt.  
The passenger airbag deactiva-  
ted indicator lamp* remains on  
while the airbag is deactivated.
