UPDATING THE RISK AREAS POIs

The detailed procedure is available from PEUGEOT dealers.

Download the "Risk areas POIs" update ¿le

onto a CD ROM or USB memory stick from the

Internet. This service is available on https://www.

wipinforadars.fr or https://www.peugeot-connect-

downloads.co.uk.

The ¿les must be copied to the root on the chosen medium.

Insert the medium (CD ROM or USB memory stick)

containing the POI database into the system's CD

player or USB port.

The system detects the medium inserted

automatically. Con¿rm the start of the update by

validating "YES".

Successful downloading is con¿rmed by a message.

The medium used must not contain any other data.

RECEIVING TA MESSAGES

The TA (Traf¿c Announcement) function gives priority to TA alert

messages. To operate, this function needs good reception of a

radio station transmitting this type of message. When a traf¿c report

is transmitted, the current audio source (Radio, CD, USB, ...) is

interrupted automatically to play the TA message. Normal playback

of the audio source resumes at the end of the transmission of the

message.

For reasons of safety and because they require prolonged attention

on the part of the driver, the operations for pairing the Bluetooth

mobile telephone to the hands-free system of the audio unit must be

carried out with the vehicle stationary.

06 USING THE TELEPHONE

The services available depend on the network, the SIM card and the compatibility of the Bluetooth telephone used. Check the telephone

manual and with your network provider for details of the services available to you.

Then accept automatic connection on the telephone to allow the

telephone to reconnect automatically every time the vehicle is

started.

The "Hands-free mode" should be used in preference if

"Streaming" is not desired.

On return to the vehicle,the last telephone connected

automatically reconnects, within around 30 seconds after

switching on the ignition. (Bluetooth activated and visible).

To modify the automatic connection mode, remove the pairing and

pair the telephone again with the desired mode.

The ability of the system to connect in only one mode depends on

the telephone. The two modes may both connect by default.

in certain conditions, coverage of an RDS station may not be

assured throughout the entire country as radio stations do not

INFORMATION AND ADVICE

The audio equipment will only play audio ¿les with ".m4a, .m4b, .aac,

.Àac, .ogg and.mp3" ¿le extensions and with a bit rate of between

32 Kbps and 320 Kbps.

It also supports the VBR (Variable Bit Rate) mode.

No other type of ¿le (.wma, .mp4, .m3u...) can be played.

The sampling rates supported are 11, 22, 44 and 48 KHz.

The system supports USB mass storage or IPod

devices via the USB port (suitable cable not supplied).

Control of the peripheral device is with the audio

system controls.

Other peripherals, not recognised on connection, must

be connected to the auxiliary socket using a Jack cable

(not supplied).

It is advisable to restrict ¿le names to 20 characters, without using of

special characters (e.g. : " " ? ; ù) to avoid any playing and displaying

problems.

In order to be read, a USB memory stick must be formatted FAT 16 or 32.

In order to be able to play a recorded CDR or CDRW, when recording

it is preferable to select the ISO 9660 level 1, 2 or Joliet standard.

If the disc is recorded in another format it may not be played correctly.

It is recommended that the same recording standard is always used

for an individual disc, with as low a speed as possible (4x maximum)

for optimum sound quality.

In the particular case of a multi-session CD, the Joliet standard is

recommended.

RADIO

SELECTING A STATION

The exterior environment (hills, buildings, tunnel, car park, below

ground...) may prevent reception, even in RDS station tracking

mode. This phenomenon is normal in the propagation of radio

waves and is in no way indicative of a fault with the audio system.

Press LIST to display the list of stations

received in alphabetical order.

Select the desired radio station and

con¿rm by pressing OK.

Press SOURCE several times in

succession and select radio.

A press changes to the next or previous

letter (e.g. A, B, D, F, G, J, K, ...).

RDS

RECEIVING TA MESSAGES

The TA (Traf¿c Announcement) function gives priority to TA alert

messages. To operate, this function needs good reception of a

radio station transmitting this type of message. When a traf¿c

report is transmitted, the current audio source (Radio, CD,

USB, ...) is interrupted automatically to play the TA message.

Normal playback of the audio source resumes at the end of the

transmission of the message.

RDS, if displayed, enables you to continue listening to the same

station by automatic retuning to alternative frequencies. However,

in certain conditions, coverage of an RDS station may not be

assured throughout the country as radio stations do not cover

100 % of the territory. This explains the loss of reception of the

station during a journey.

DIGITAL RADIO - LISTENING TO

INFO MESSAGES

Select "RDS" or "DAB/FM auto

tracking" and con¿rm to save.

"RDS" or "DAB/FM" is displayed on the

screen.

The INFO function gives priority to TA alert messages. To be

active, this function needs good reception of a radio station that

transmits this type of message. When a message is transmitted,

the current audio source (Radio, CD, USB,...) is interrupted

automatically to receive the INFO message. Normal play resumes

at the end of the message transmission.

DAB/FM auto tracking allows you to continue listening to the same

station, by temporarily switching to the equivalent analogue station

AUDIO CD

PLAYING A CD

Insert 12 cm diameter circular compact discs only.

Press LIST to display the list of tracks

on the CD.

Some anti-pirating systems, on original discs or CDs copied using a

personal recorder, may cause faults which are no reÀection on the

quality of the original player.

Without pressing the EJECT button, insert a CD in the player, play

begins automatically.

CD, USB

INFORMATION AND ADVICE

On a single disc, the CD player can read up to 255 MP3 ¿les spread

over 8 directory levels. However, it is recommended that this be kept

to 2 levels so as to limit the time taken to access and play the CD.

The audio system will only play ¿les with extension ".mp3" or ".wma"

and a compression rate that is constant or variable between 32 Kbps

and 320 Kbps.

During play, the folder structure is not observed.

In order to be able to play a recorded CDR or CDRW, when recording

it is preferable to select standards ISO 9660 level 1.2 or Joliet.

If the disc is recorded in another format, it may not be played correctly.

It is advisable to restrict ¿le names to 20 characters without using

special characters (e.g. " ?; ù) to avoid any playing or displaying

problems.

It is recommended that the same recording standard is always used

for an individual disc, with as low a speed as possible (4x maximum)

for optimum sound quality.

In the particular case of a multi-session CD, the Joliet standard is

recommended.

The playlists accepted are types .m3u and .pls.

Do not connect a hard disk or USB device other than audio players to

the USB port. This may cause damage to your installation.

The number of ¿les is limited to 5 000 in 500 directories on a

maximum of 8 levels.

PLAYING A COMPILATION

Press one of the buttons to select the

next or previous track.

Insert an MP3 compilation in the CD player or

connect a memory stick to the USB port, directly or

via an extension lead.

The system creates playlists (temporary memory) the creation time

for which can take from a few seconds to several minutes.

The playlists are updated every time the ignition is switched off or a

USB memory stick is connected.

Play starts automatically after a period which depends on the

capacity of the USB memory stick.

Press one of the buttons to select the

next or previous folder in the order

chosen.

Press and hold one of the buttons for

fast forwards or backwards.

At a ¿rst connection, the order suggested is by folder.

When connecting again, the order previously chosen is

retained.

IPOD^®or PORTABLE PLAYER

The audio ¿les on a Mass Storage portable player* can

be heard through the vehicle's speakers by connecting

it to the USB port (cable not supplied).

The Ipod^®must be updated regularly for the best connection.

The playlists are those de¿ned in the Ipod^®.

Management of the device is via the audio system controls.

The Ipod^®must be generation 5 or later.

If the portable player is not recognised by the USB port,

connect it to the auxiliary Jack socket.

STREAMING - PLAYING AUDIO FILES

The play modes available are:

Depending on the compatibility of the phone

Normal: the tracks are played in order, depending on the

classi¿cation of the selected ¿les.

Random: the tracks in an album or folder are played in a

random order.

Random all: all of the tracks saved in the media ar played in

random order.

Repeat: the tracks played are only those from the current

album or folder.

Streaming allows music ¿les on a telephone to be heard via the

vehicle's speakers.

The telephone must support the appropriate bluetooth pro¿les

(Pro¿les A2DP/AVRCP).

PAIRING A TELEPHONE

The services offered depend on the network, the SIM card and the compatibility of the Bluetooth telephone used.

Consult your telephone's manual and your operator to ¿nd out which services are available to you. A list of mobile telephones which offer the best

range of services is available from the PEUGEOT dealer network.

For safety reasons and because they require prolonged attention on the part of the driver, the operations for pairing of the Bluetooth mobile

telephone with the Bluetooth hands-free system of your audio system must be carried out with the vehicle stationary and the ignition on.

There is a difference in

sound quality between

the different audio

For optimum sound quality, the audio settings (Volume, Bass, Treble,

Ambience, Loudness) can be adapted to the different sound sources,

which may result in audible differences when changing source

(radio, CD...).

Check that the audio settings (Volume, Bass,

Treble, Ambience, Loudness) are adapted to

the sources listened to. It is advisable to set

the AUDIO functions (Bass, Treble, Front-Rear

Fader, Left-Right Balance) to the middle position,

select the musical ambience "None" and set the

loudness correction to the "Active" position in CD

mode or to the "Inactive" position in radio mode.
