Towing: breakdown

Before towing, set the gearbox to

the neutral position (Nposition for

vehicles equipped with an automat-

ic gearbox) then, for E-Tech Full Hy-

brid versions, wait for around a

minute. Unlock the steering column

then release the parking brake.

partment, press the engine start

button for approximately two sec-

onds.

Reposition the lever to the neutral

position (N position on vehicles

equipped with an automatic gear-

box) then, on E-Tech Full Hybrid ver-

sions, wait for around a minute be-

fore towing.

The steering column unlocks and the

accessory functions are powered:

you can use the vehicle's lights (di-

rection indicators, brake lights, etc.).

At night the vehicle must have its

lights on.

Transport the vehicle on a trailer or

tow it with the front wheels off the

ground.

Before towing or recovering your ve-

hicle on a flatbed, respect the fol-

lowing instructions:

– with the card in the detection

zone, press the engine start button

for approximately two seconds;

– set the gear lever to N position;

– the accessories functions are sup-

plied: you can use the vehicle light-

ing functions (direction indicators,

brake lights, etc.).

Access to towing points

Use only the front 4 and rear 6 tow-

ing points (never use the driveshafts

or any other part of the vehicle).

These towing points may only be

used for pulling. They must never be

used for lifting the vehicle directly or

indirectly.

– once you have finished towing,

press the engine start button twice.

Depending on the vehicle, once you

have finished towing, press the en-

gine start button twice (risk of run-

ning down the battery).

The speed specified by current legis-

lation for towing must always be ob-

maximum: first tighten by hand as

far as possible, then finish by locking

it using the wheel brace or, depend-

ing on the vehicle, using the lever.

You must only use the towing ring 3

and the wheel brace or the lever

Attach the positive cable A to termi-

nal 1 ( + ), then to terminal 5 ( + ) of

the battery supplying the current.

Attach the negative cable B to ter-

minal 6 ( – ) of the battery supplying

the current and then to terminal 2

( – ).

Press the start button and, as soon

as the ignition is switched on, dis-

connect cables A and B in the re-

verse order ( 1 - 5 - 6 - 2 ).

Note: open the cover 3 of terminal 1

( + ) by pressing the button 4 in the

direction indicated by the arrow.

Each time you have used the cover

3 , check that the cover of terminal 8

is attached correctly to its tab 7 .
