Jump lead terminal connections
Starting

Never use jump leads when one of the bat-
teries is frozen. Danger of explosion! Even
once thawed, electrolyte leaks can cause
burns. Replace the battery if it is frozen.
The jump leads should only be connected in
the order 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 ››› Fig. 164.
7. Start the engine of the vehicle supplying
the current and leave it running at idle.
8. Start the engine of the vehicle with a dis-
charged battery and wait 2 to 3 minutes
until the engine runs.
