Lever positions
Automatic activation
Upon start-up of the engine.

Parked vehicle
The drive wheels are
locked.
Only set the posi-
tion when the vehi-
cle is stationary.
Reverse gear
By selecting the driving mode Eco » page 128, Op-
eration.

When the system is deactivated, the symbol illumi-
nates in the button

If a system-related engine switch-off occurs and the
system is deactivated, the engine will start.
Only set the posi-
tion when the vehi-
cle is stationary.
Neutral
Troubleshooting
There is no transmission of engine power to the
wheels.
Forward drive / sports program
The engine does not switch off when stopping, or
it starts before starting up
The system has detected that the engine is running.
The gear is changed automatically.
In mode, the gear is changed at higher speeds
than in mode.
Choose between and (spring-loaded posi-
tion)

Operation
Moving the selector lever out of the or position
NOTICE
Danger of engine damage!
lights up - the selector lever is locked
Shift into higher gear before reaching the red area
of the rev counter scale.

Press the brake pedal,

and at the same time,
press the button in the
selector lever.
NOTICE
Danger of gearbox damage!
Depress the clutch pedal all the way down.

If not in the process of changing gear, do not leave
your hand on the gearshift lever.

Engaging reverse gear
Stop the vehicle.
Depress the clutch pedal completely.
Move the shift lever to the neutral position.
Push the gearshift lever down.
Set this completely to the left.
Wait briefly.
Engage reverse gear.
