Automatic switch-off of the cooling system  
Switch the seat heating or ventilation  
If the coolant temperature is too high, the cooling  
system may switch off automatically. This ensures  
sufficient engine cooling.

Usage  
Decrease the temperature  
Increase temperature  
The auxiliary heater heats the vehicle interior and the  
engine.  
The temperature can also be set using two fin-  
gers in the progress bar under the temperature set-  
ting area.  
The auxiliary ventilation makes it possible to supply  
fresh air to the vehicle interior when the engine is  
switched off. As a result, the interior temperature is  
lowered, e.g. when the vehicle is parked in the sun.  
The rear temperature can also be set on the dis-  
play in the centre console at the rear.  
With a temperature setting outside of the number  
range, one of the following icons will be displayed in  
the Infotainment screen:

The auxiliary heater must not be operated in en-  
closed spaces.  
Additional Climatronic settings for the infotain-

Tap the functional area in the operating menu for  
the air conditioning.  
Switch off the auxiliary heater before refuelling.  
The exhaust pipe for the auxiliary heater is located  
on the underside of the vehicle. Therefore, do not  
stop the vehicle in places where the exhaust gases  
could come into contact with easily flammable ma-  
terials, e.g. dry grass, spilled fuel etc.

Automatic windscreen heating - Switch on/off the automatic

Switching on/off the automatic start of seat heat-  
ing and ventilation as well as the steering wheel  
heating when the engine is started (depending on  
the interior temperature)  
The interior is heated or ventilated according to the  
temperature that is set in the auxiliary heating menu.  
The system consumes fuel from the fuel tank when  
operating the heating.  
When the air conditioner is operating, the engine  
idle speed may increase automatically.  
Operating conditions  
The charge state of the 12-volt vehicle battery is  
sufficient.  
Troubleshooting  
The fuel supply is sufficient, the instrument clus-  
ter does not light up

Water under the vehicle  
When the cooling system is switched on, water can  
drip off the air conditioning system. This is not a leak.  
Operation  
Fogging  
Switch on automatic mode.  
Switch on/off with the radio remote control  
Hold down the corresponding key.  
Or:  
Increase the blower speed, switch on the cooling  
system, and set the air distribution to the wind-  
screen.

Setting the running time for immediate switch-  
on  
Only one preset time can be active. The activated  
preset time will be deactivated again after it has  
started automatically. To start the next preset time,  
this preset time must be activated.  
Hold the radio remote control with the antenna  
facing upwards.  
When selecting the day in the preset time, there  
is an option between Sunday and Monday without  
the specified day. When this position is selected, the  
system is switched on at the next set time.  
NOTICE  
Protect the remote control from moisture, strong  
vibrations and direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting  
Smoke in the engine compartment  
In the engine compartment, smoke and odours may  
form during the operation of the auxiliary heater.  
This is not a defect.  
Range of the radio remote control  
The range of the wireless remote control is a few  
hundred meters when the battery is full. For exam-  
ple, obstacles or weather conditions can reduce the  
range.  
Running the auxiliary heater after stopping the en-  
gine  
After switching off the system, the coolant pump  
and the auxiliary heating will continue running a little  
while longer in order to burn the remaining fuel in  
the heating.
