WARNING  
When adjusting the seat position  
Take care when adjusting the seat position to ensure that other passen-  
gers are not injured by the moving seat.  
Do not put your hands under the seat or near the moving parts to avoid  
injury.  
Fingers or hands may become jammed in the seat mechanism.  
Seat adjustment  
Be careful that the seat does not hit passengers or luggage.  
To reduce the risk of sliding under the lap belt during a collision, do not  
recline the seat more than necessary.  
If the seat is too reclined, the lap belt may slide past the hips and apply  
restraint forces directly to the abdomen, or your neck may contact the  
shoulder belt, increasing the risk of death or serious injury in the event of  
an accident.

Adjustments should not be made while driving as the seat may unexpect-  
edly move and cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.  
After adjusting the seat, make sure that the seat is locked in position.  
If anyone is in the vicinity, make sure they are clear of the seat back path  
and let them know that the seat is about to move.  
After returning the seatback to the upright position  
Make sure the seatback is securely locked by pushing it forward and rear-  
ward. Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.

When getting in and out of the vehicle from the third seats

Stow the seat belt buckles of  
the second seat as shown.

When folding the rear seats  
Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in death or  
serious injury.  
Do not fold the seats while driving.  
Stop the vehicle on level ground, set the parking brake and shift the shift  
lever to P (vehicles with an automatic transmission) or N (vehicles with a  
manual transmission).  
Do not allow anyone to sit on a folded seats or in the luggage compart-  
ment while driving.  
After tumbling the second seats  
Do not drive the vehicle with the second seats tumbled forward.

Align the head restraint with the installation holes and push it down to the lock

Observe the following precautions regarding the head restraints. Failure to  
do so may result in death or serious injury.  
Use the head restraints designed for each respective seat.  
Adjust the head restraints to the correct position at all times.  
After adjusting the head restraints, push down on them and make sure  
they are locked in position.  
Do not drive with the head restraints removed.  
When using the head restraints on the second center seat, use after align-  
ing both the left and right head restraint positions and both left and right  
seat positions and angles.

Do not arrange the seat positions when passengers are seated.  
Be careful not to get your hands or feet caught in the movable parts or the  
connected parts.  
After tumbling the third seats, be sure to hold it by the holding strap.

Do not allow anyone to sit on a folded seatback, on tumbled seats or in the  
luggage compartment while driving.  
Do not allow passengers to ride or put any luggage on a flattened seat  
while driving.  
Do not allow children to enter the luggage compartment.  
Make sure the seat is securely locked by pushing it forward and rearward.  
Check that the seat belts and the buckles are not twisted or caught in the  
seats after arranging the seat positions.  
When the second seats are used with the seatbacks folded down, check  
that the seat legs are firmly locked to the floor.  
After returning the seat to the original position  
Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in death or  
serious injury.  
Make sure the seat is securely locked by pushing it forward and rearward.  
Check that the seat belts and the buckles are not twisted or caught in the  
seats.  
Be certain to replace the head restraint.  
When seats are flattened  
Do not drive with the front seats flattened.  
Do not run on the flattened seats, and move over slowly stepping on the  
flattened seats.
