For cars without heated windscreen:
Air distribution - recirculation
NOTE
Select recirculation to shut out bad air,
exhaust gases etc. from the passenger com-
partment, i.e. no outside air is taken into the
car when this function is activated.
Air flows to the windows - symbol (2) illu-
minates in the screen.
•
Electrically heated windscreen is not avail-
able when the engine is auto-stopped
(p. 283).
Switch off the function - no symbol illumi-
nates.

The following also takes place in order to pro-
vide maximum dehumidification in the pas-
senger compartment:
For cars with heated windscreen:
When recirculation is
engaged the orange lamp in
the button illuminates.

IMPORTANT
NOTE
If the air in the car is recirculated for too
long then there is a risk of misting on the
insides of the windows.
NOTE
The noise level increases as the fan is
operating at max.
Heated windscreen and IR window (p. 21)
may have an impact on the performance of
transponders and other communication
equipment.
Timer
When the defroster is switched off the climate
control returns to the previous settings.
With the timer function activated the system
will exit manually activated recirculation mode
according to a time that depends on the out-
side temperature. This reduces the risk of ice,
misting and bad air.
