Remember that in the event of an
accident, rear seat passengers cannot
open rear doors from the inside if the child
safety locks are activated. Therefore, keep
the doors unlocked while driving. In the
event of an accident, rescue personnel
will then be able to quickly get into the car
from the outside.
Electric child safety locks – rear
doors (option in certain
markets)
Use the button in the centre console to
activate or deactivate the child safety locks in
the rear doors. The ignition key must be in
position I or II. The LED in the button comes
on when the child safety lock is activated. A
message appears in the display when you
activate or deactivate the child safety lock.
Mechanical child safety locks –
rear doors and tailgate
The controls for the child safety locks are in
the rear edges of the rear doors and the
bottom edge of the tailgate (certain markets).
Each control is only accessible when the
door or tailgate is open. Use the ignition key
to turn the control, thereby activating or
deactivating the child safety lock.
1. The door can be opened from inside.
2. The door cannot be opened from inside.
NOTE! The rear doors cannot be opened
from the inside as long as the electric child
safety locks are activated.
