Child seats -> Securing child seats with the top tether for Your Volkswagen Caddy SUV Fifth Generation (2020-2025)

Push the attachment arms on the child seat into the ISOFIX anchor points as shown by the arrows . The child seat  
must click and audibly securely into place.  
Pull on both sides of the child seat to check whether the seat has clicked properly into place.  
If the child seat is fitted with a support foot, the foot must stand firmly on the floor of the vehicle.  
Securing child seats with the top tether

ISOFIX child seats with “universal” approval must be secured with an upper strap(top tether) in addition to the ISOFIX  
anchor points.

Fasten the top tether only to the intended anchor rings that are suitable for the top tether. These are marked with a  
symbol and, where applicable, the “TOP TETHER” label.  
Child seats with the ISOFIX system and top tether must be secured only to the outer seats in the second row or,  
depending on the equipment, in the third row or the front passenger seat.  
Observe the instructions (→ Child seats).  
Remove the net partition if necessary.  
If necessary, remove the head restraint located behind the child seat and stow it securely in the vehicle.  
Push the attachment arms on the child seat into the ISOFIX anchor points as shown by the arrows (→ Child seat  
with ISOFIX). The child seat must click and audibly securely into place.  
Remove the luggage compartment cover if necessary.  
Guide the top tether on the child seat behind the seat and hook it into the fastening rings→ Fig. 1, → Fig. 2 or  
→ Fig. 3.  
Tighten the tether so that the top of the child seat rests against the rear seat backrest.  
Install the luggage compartment cover if necessary.  
WARNING  
Secure the strap only to the top tether anchor rings. Failure to do so could lead to severe injuries.  
Each anchor ring in the luggage compartment can hold onlyone child seat restraining strap.  
Use the bolted on side fastening rings only to attach the top tether.  
Never attach the retaining strap to fastening rings other than thosebolted on at the side.  
Depending on the market and model, there may be two or three anchor rings behind the backrest on the  
second row of seats.  
Securing a child seat using the seat belt  
If you wish to fit a child seat in your vehicle, you must first ensure that it is approved for the seats in question.  
Important information is given on the orange ECE approval label on the child seat. Installation options are shown in  
the table below.
