Introduction
Park Assist shows parking spaces that are suitable for parking and assists the driver when driving into and out of
parking spaces.
How the system works
Park Assist is an extension of Park Distance Control (→ Park Distance Control).
Park Assist steers the vehicle automatically. The driver must control the accelerator, gear changes and brake→
Observe the text message in the instrument cluster display.
.
The
button for the rear window heating is located in the centre console.
WARNING
The intelligent technology used in the parking systems cannot overcome the laws of physics, and functions only
within the system limits. If this is not observed, this can result in accidents, serious injuries and also damage to the
vehicle.
● Pay careful attention to the parking procedure and the traffic around you. Keep looking in the direction in which
you are parking.
● Use the foot brake to slow the vehicle in a hazardous situation.
WARNING
Fast rotational steering wheel movements can cause serious injury.
● During the manoeuvring operation, do not grasp the steering wheel until prompted to do so by the system.
● If a dangerous situation occurs, take control of the steering.
NOTICE
Park Assist uses parked vehicles, the kerb and other objects as guidance. Please ensure sure that low-lying vehicle
parts such as tyres and wheel rims are not damaged when parking.
● If necessary, operate the brake pedal and finish the parking manoeuvre.
Any equipment that has been retrofitted to the vehicle, e.g. bicycle carriers, can prevent Park Assist from
functioning properly and may cause damage.
Park Assist cannot be activated when an electrically connected trailer has been detected by the
vehicle.
Park Assist can be activated retroactively. If a suitable parking space was driven past before, it is
displayed.
