Symbols in the instrument cluster

The warning and indicator lamps indicate various warnings, faults or certain functions. Some

warning and indicator lamps light up when the ignition is switched on and should go out once the

engine is running or the vehicle is in motion.

For details on indicator lamps that light up in the light switch, see Chapter “Lights” (→ Dipped beam,

Operation).

WARNING

Failure to observe illuminated warning lamps and text messages can lead to your vehicle breaking

down in traffic, and can cause accidents and serious injury.

Never ignore any illuminated warning lamps or text messages.

Stop the vehicle as soon as possible and when safe to do so.

Central warning lamp → Priority 1 warning

Fasten seat belt → Warning lamp

Electronic parking brake → Electronic parking brake is switched on

Brake system fault → Brake system fault

Electromechanical brake servo failure → Electromechanical brake servo failure

Low brake fluid level → Brake fluid level

Depress the brake pedal. → Brake request

Fault in the engine coolant system →

Fault in steering → Fault in steering

Fault in electric drive system → Fault in electrical system

12-volt vehicle battery → 12-volt vehicle battery

Collision warning → Advance warning

Central warning lamp → Priority 2 warning

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) not available → The ACC is not available.

Lane Assist switched on, not active → Driving with the lane keeping system

Fault in the "Blind Spot” Monitor → Blind Spot Monitor failed

Fault in engine management system → Fault in engine management system

12-volt vehicle battery → 12-volt vehicle battery
