Raising vehicle with lifting platform and  
trolley jack  
WARNING  
♦ Before driving onto a lifting platform, ensure that there is  
sufficient clearance between low-lying vehicle compo‐  
nents and lifting platform.  
♦ Before driving a vehicle onto a lifting platform it must be  
ensured that the vehicle weight does not exceed the per‐  
missible lifting capacity of the platform.  
♦ Vehicle may be lifted only at points indicated in figure to  
avoid damaging vehicle floor pan or tipping vehicle.  
♦ Never start engine and engage a gear with vehicle lifted  
as long as even one driven wheel has contact with the  
floor! Disregarding these warnings risks the danger of an  
accident!  
♦ If work is to be performed under vehicle, it must be sup‐  
ported by suitable jack stands.  
Lifting points for lifting platform and trolley jack  
Front:  
Position support plate on cross reinforcement of floor pan in circle  
area -1-.  
WARNING  
On no account must front of vehicle be raised on side member  
vertical stiffener.

Position support plate on vertical reinforcement of side member  
at area marked -arrow-.  
Note  
Ensure that the side member reinforcement -arrow- seats cen‐  
trally on support plate of hoist mounting and the side member is  
not damaged.

Attaching “Your first service” sticker (de‐  
livery inspection):  
Attach “Your next service” sticker ⇒ page 19  
“Your first service” sticker  
– Attach sticker on driver door pillar (B-pillar); the sticker is found  
on an instruction which is attached at front in the vehicle wallet.  
Destroy the instruction after attaching the sticker!
