Infotainment -> Mobile phone interfaces for Your Volkswagen Polo SUV Sixth Generation (2017-2021)

Infotainment
Mobile phone interfaces
The following options are available in addition to the “Basic” mobile phone interface:
-
-
“Basic” mobile phone interface with inductive charging function (wireless charging WLC)
“Comfort” mobile phone interface with inductive charging function (wireless charging WLC)
The mobile telephone is connected inductively to the telephone aerial R65 that is integrated into the roof when
the “Comfort” mobile phone interface is installed. This ensures that the best possible telephone reception is
always
available in the vehicle. The new telephone aerial R65 supports the LTE mobile telecommunications standard.
Inductive charging function
The mobile telephone can be charged wirelessly. You
do this by placing a Qi-compatible mobile telephone
on the storage compartment with interface for
mobile telephone R365 in front of the selector lever.
The storage compartment R265 contains the
interface for mobile telephone. In addition to the
interface aerial for connecting the exterior aerial, the
interface contains various coils for inductive
charging.

Function and circuit
Figure s571_099 shows the system overview of the “Comfort” mobile phone interfaces with inductive charging
function. The transmission and reception stabilisation control unit R308 and telephone aerial R65 are not
installed with the “Basic” mobile phone interface with inductive charging.
The storage compartment R365 and the control unit R308 are activated via the Tel. ON wire (1) if the
terminal S is on.
The Keyless Access wire (2) briefly interrupts the inductive charging during a short cyclical query for vehicle keys
in the interior.
The control unit for information electronics J794 or the radio R establishes the current status of the components
(aerial wires, transmission and reception stabilisation control unit R308 and the storage compartment with
interface for mobile telephone R265) via the status wire (3).
You will find more information on the topic of the “inductive charging function” in the web-based
training (WBT) “Model update week 22/16: Electrics and Infotainment”.
