Additional functions can be programmed or

specialist workshop depending on the vehicle's  
equipment. Volkswagen recommends that you  
visit a Volkswagen dealer for this.  
Instrument panel  
Introduction to the topic  
Some menu items can only be opened when the  
vehicle is stationary.  
After starting the engine with a deeply  
discharged or freshly replaced 12-volt battery,  
some system settings (such as time, date,  
custom comfort settings and programmes) may  
have been misadjusted or erased. Check and  
correct these settings once the battery is  
sufficiently charged.

checkbox has the "tick" activated, the  
assistance system is switched on.  
Limited operation  
The fatigue detection system is subject  
to certain limitations inherent in the  
system. The following conditions may  
cause the system to function in a  
limited manner or not at all:  
– speeds below 65 km/h (40  
mph)  
– speeds above approx. 200  
km/h (125 mph).  
– curved sections  
– bad roads  
– adverse weather conditions  
– sporty driving style  
– high driver distraction  
– driving with heavy or long trailers

fatigue detection system cannot overcome the  
limits imposed by the laws of physics and only  
works within the limits of the system. The  
increased comfort provided by the fatigue  
detection system should never lead to any risk  
to safety. When travelling on long journeys,  
take regular, suitably long breaks.
