Internet Radio  
Internet Radio is a reception mode for Internet radio stations and podcasts which is independent ofAM  
, FM and DAB. As it is transmitted via the Internet, reception is not regionally restricted.  
Internet Radio is available only when the Infotainment system has an active Internet connection (→ Radio – online  
functions), . Costs may be incurred for data transmission from the Internet when using Internet Radio mode.  
Functioning of Internet Radio depends on the privacy settings in the vehicle

Station logos  
Station logos can be pre-installed in the Infotainment system for some frequency bands.  
The station logos are automatically assigned to the stations ifAutoselect station logos is activated in the settings.  
In Internet Radio mode, the Infotainment system accesses the station logos from an online database and assigns  
them automatically to the stations.  
Manually assigning station logos  
1. In radio mode, tap  
Radio Station logos.  
2. Touch the station to which you wish to assign the station logo.  
3. Select the station logo.  
4. If required, repeat the process for other stations.  
5. Tap  
to finish assigning station logos.  
Introduction  
In media mode, you can playback media files from data media via the Infotainment system.  
With some equipment levels, the following data media may be used:  
USB  
data medium, e.g. USB stick.  
USB  
flash drives exclusively with FAT32 file system.  
Bluetooth device, e.g. mobile telephone.  
With some equipment levels, the following types of media files may be played back:  
Audio data, e.g. music.  
Video files.  
Streaming services  
With some equipment levels and in some countries, you can also use streaming services (→ Media – online functions).

Restrictions and information on data media  
Dirty, overheated and damaged data media may become unusable. Please observe the manufacturer's instructions.  
Quality differences in data media from different manufacturers may cause malfunctions in the media playback.  
If a data storage device is incorrectly configured, this may result in the data storage device not being readable.  
Storage volumes, state of use(copy and deletion processes), file system, folder structure and the volumes of data  
stored may increase the reading time of data media.  
Playlists only specify one playback order and refer to the location of the media files within the folder structure. No  
media files are stored in a playlist. To play a playlist, the media files must be stored in the locations on the data  
medium that are referenced by the playlist.  
No liability can be accepted for damaged, changed or lost files on data  
media.

Select My media as the media source. ConnectedUSB  
devices can be selected under My media.  
Select a device connected via Bluetooth as the media source.  
Select a device connected to the USB  
port as the media source. You can select a connected USB device under USB.  
Set up available streaming services.  
Any streaming services already set up are shown in the list of media sources with their own logo.

Selecting and playing a media source  
Select media source  
1. If you wish to play back from an external media source, connect the external media source.  
2. Select the connected media source that is to be used for playback.  
Playing back audio and video files  
You must connect and select a media source before playing media files.  
You can search for and playback media files from an available media source in a variety of ways.  
Searching in the folder structure  
All media files ofUSB  
devices are filtered according to categories, e.g. album. This category view is always shown in My media. The classic  
folder structure of the individual USB data media is additionally located underMy media.  
1. Display the folder structure.  
The folder structure of the selected media source is shown. IfMy media is selected, categories(e.g. music) and  
connected media sources are shown first.  
2. Search the folder structure for the required track.  
Or: Tap to start the full-text search.

3. Enter the name of the required track.  
The list of tracks found updates automatically during the input.  
4. Touch the desired track.  
If the selection is in a folder on a media source when playback starts, the media files in that folder will be added  
to the playback.  
When a playlist is played back, all the available tracks in the playlist are added to the playback.  
5. Close the selection with .  
Selecting from favourites  
You can save individual tracks, albums, artists and genres as favourites for playback.

Depending on what you select, all the tracks belonging to the favourite are added to the playlist.  
Saving favourites  
Only media files that are displayed inMy media in the folders Music and Video can be stored as favourites. You can  
save individual tracks, albums, artists and genres as favourites.

Or: tap a previously assigned favourite location and hold for around 3 seconds.  
4. Choose from the selection list:  
Track.

Genres.  
Playlists.  
The selection is saved to the selected favourites space as a favourite. If the favourites space is already used, the  
previously saved favourite will be overwritten.  
The selection options in the selection list depend on the data assigned to the media file. If, e.g. no genre is given for a  
music file, the genre cannot be stored as a favourite.  
If a video file is currently playing, only that video can be saved as a favourite.  
Setting up streaming services  
With some equipment levels and in some countries, you can use streaming services directly via the Infotainment  
system (→ Media – online functions). This requires you to have an existing user account with the respective streaming  
service which you must use to log into the Infotainment system. You need an internet connection in order to use  
streaming services (→ Media – online functions).  
1. Select Streaming as the media source.  
A list of available streaming services is shown.  
2. Select the required streaming service.

An input field for entering the login data is displayed.  
3. Enter and confirm the login data of the required user account.  
The streaming service is added to the list of media sources as a new function button.  
You may need to log in again to the streaming service if you change the privacy setting, for  
example.  
Online functions in media mode  
Depending on the equipment, the Infotainment system may feature online functions in media mode.  
Online functions in media mode are not available in all countries and vehicle models.  
The online functions in media mode include, for example, streaming services.  
What you need in order to use online functions in media mode:  
The vehicle is equipped withWe Connect or We Connect Plus.  
You have an active We Connect user account.  
The vehicle is assigned to your user account.  
You have purchased a corresponding data plan for an Internet connection from theIn-Car Shop or you have a data  
plan for the SIM  
card of your mobile telephone and are connected to your vehicle via the Wi-Fi hotspot on your mobile telephone.  
Streaming services  
Depending on the equipment, you can also use streaming services.  
Streaming services are not available in all countries and vehicle models.  
Prerequisites for using these streaming services  
The requirements for using online functions in media mode are satisfied.  
You have a user account with the respective streaming service.  
Some streaming services can only be activated and deactivated together, even if they are listed individually in  
the menu .

Entertainment playback via the Infotainment system  
The Infotainment system can be used to play videos as well as music.  
Video mode  
In video mode, the Infotainment system display can play a video from a data medium, from the internal memory or  
from a streaming service, depending on the equipment and in some countries (→ Media – online functions). The video  
soundtrack is played on the vehicle loudspeakers.  
The video image is displayed only when the vehicle is stationary. When the vehicle is in motion, the Infotainment  
system display is switched off. You will still hear the video audio.  
In some countries, no video image is displayed even when the vehicle is stationary for traffic safety reasons.  
A stable Internet connection is needed for playback via a streaming service (→ Media – online functions). Costs may  
be charged by the mobile operator.
