Opening and closing  
Power windows  
Never close the windows carelessly or in an  
uncontrolled manner, because this increases  
the risk of injury.  
Opening and closing the windows  
Tips  
The windows will automatically open slight-  
ly when you open the doors.  
If the window in the driver's or front pas-  
senger's door is completely open, it will  
raise slightly when the door is opened. The  
window will lower again when you close the  
door.

You can still open and close the windows for  
several minutes after turning the ignition  
off. The power windows do not turn off until  
the driver's door or front passenger's door  
has been opened.

The power windows are equipped with pinch  
protection. The automatic window may stop  
closing and will open all the way again even  
if no obstacle is detected. Pull the power  
window switch up until the window is com-  
pletely raised.  
Central switch* for opening or closing all side  
windows at the same time  
Opening and closing the windows  
All power windows can be operated from the  
driver's seat. All power window switches are  
equipped with a two-stage function:  
Convenience opening and closing  
Applies to: vehicles with convenience key  
Convenience opening and closing the  
windows and roof*  
To open or close the window completely, press  
the switch down or pull the switch up briefly to  
the second level. The operation will stop if the  
switch is pressed or pulled again.  
You can set in the MMI if all windows and the  
roof* should open all at once ðpage 37, Setting  
the central locking system.  
To select a partially open position, press or pull  
the switch to the first level until the desired  
window position is reached.  
Press and hold the / button on the vehicle  
key until all of the windows reach the desired  
position and the roof* is tilted open ð  
Touch the sensor* on the door handle

Correcting a malfunction in the one-touch  
up/down function  
ðpage 41, fig. 28 until all of the windows and  
the roof* are closed. Do not place your hand in  
the door handle when doing this.  
If necessary, you can reactivate the one-touch up/  
down function if it malfunctions.

Opening and closing  
Opening and closing the sunshade: push the  
switch in the headliner 2 briefly toward  
the rear or forward to the second level.  
Partially opening the sunshade: press the   
switch to the first level until the sunshade  
reaches the desired position.  
Never close the windows or the roof* care-  
lessly or in an uncontrolled manner, because  
this increases the risk of injury.  
For security reasons, the windows and the  
roof* should only be opened and closed with  
the vehicle key when they are within sight  
and when you are at a maximum distance of  
approximately 6.5 feet (2 m) from the vehi-  
cle. Always pay attention when using the   
button to close the windows and the roof*  
so that no one is pinched. The closing proc-  
ess will stop immediately when the but-  
ton is released.  
Operating the roof  
Tilting the roof: press the switch in the  
headliner briefly up to the second level 1 .  
Closing the tilted roof: pull the switch down  
briefly to the second level.  
Applies when the sunshade is open: Opening  
the roof: push the button toward the rear  
briefly to the second level 2 .  
Closing the opened roof: push the switch  
forward briefly to the second level.  
Applies when the sunshade is open: Opening  
partially: push, press, or pull the switch to  
the first level until the roof reaches the desired  
position.  
Tips  
Applies to: vehicles with panoramic glass  
roof: If the sunshade is closed, it will auto-  
matically open when the roof is tilted.  
Panoramic glass roof  
Operating the panoramic glass roof and  
roof sunshade  
Applies to: vehicles with panoramic glass roof and roof sun-  
shade  
Quick opening and closing  
You can also open or close the roof and roof sun-  
shade in one movement.  
Opening the roof and sunshade: slide the   
switch back briefly twice in a row to the second  
level 2 .  
Closing the opened roof: push the switch  
forward briefly twice in a row to the second lev-  
el.  
If necessary, you can interrupt the quick opening  
or closing process by pressing the button again.  
Roof emergency closing

If an object is detected when closing, the roof will  
open again automatically. In this case, you can  
then close it with the power emergency closing  
function.  
The control button is equipped with a two-stage  
function.  
If the sunshade is closed, it will automatically  
open when the roof is tilted or opened.  
Within five seconds after the roof opens auto-  
matically, pull the switch until the roof  
Operating the roof sunshade  
closes.  
The roof sunshade cannot be closed completely if  
the roof is open.
