You can switch the MMI’s Bluetooth function  
on/off and adjust the settings in the Bluetooth  
menu.  
Opening the settings  
menu  
You can switch certain functions on/off or adjust  
the settings in the Settings menu. The settings  
depend on the country and the equipment fitted  
in your vehicle.  
►
Select: > Settings > Connection > Blue-  
tooth.  
The Vehicle name for the Bluetooth connection  
and vehicle hotspot is automatically matched if  
changes are made.

Select: > Settings.  
System settings  
Restoring the factory settings  
Changing the system settings and  
language  
Important: The vehicle must be switched on.  
You can reset the system to the factory settings  
in the Settings menu ðpage 221.  
You can adjust the system settings in the Set-  
tings menu ðpage 221.

Follow the instructions given by the system.  
Date and time  
The system will be reset to the factory settings  
and restarted. This can take some time. Not only  
settings will be deleted when you do this; saved  
data may also be erased.  
You can adjust the date and time settings, such  
as the time zone.  
Units  
You can adjust the units that are used to display  
technical values such as speed or temperature.  
Connection manager  
Calling up the connection manager menu  
Language and keyboard  
You can change the language and the keyboard  
layout.  
You can connect your mobile devices with the  
MMI and adjust settings for already known devi-  
ces in the Connection manager menu.  
Sound settings  
Important: The vehicle must be stationary and  
switched on.  
You can adjust the sound in the Settings menu  
ðpage 221.

Select: > Settings > Connection > Connec-  
tion manager, or  
Open the quick access bar on the centre display  
and press Connection manager.  
Depending on the user, the volume when turning  
on the MMI is set to the last setting or an auto-  
matically specified value.

WARNING  
Connecting a mobile device via Bluetooth  
The audio system volume should be set at a  
level which enables you to hear external sig-  
nals (such as the sirens of police and emer-  
gency vehicles) clearly – failure to do so could  
result in an accident.  
Important: The vehicle must be stationary and  
switched on. The Connection manager menu is  
displayed ðpage 221. The Bluetooth function on  
your mobile device is switched on.

Make sure that the Bluetooth settings are open  
on your mobile device. Ensure your mobile de-  
vice is visible.

Press Add new device to connect your mobile  
device. The available Bluetooth devices will be  
shown after a few seconds.

cessfully, it will be shown in the Connection  
manager menu ðpage 221.

Both the displayed mobile devices, as well as the  
automatic reconnection are independent from  
the user logged in to the vehicle.  
Software update  
Introduction  
There are different reasons as to why the Blue-  
tooth connection between your mobile device  
and the MMI can fail. Check the following condi-  
tions and, if necessary, try connecting the device  
again.  
You can update the software in your vehicle.  
The functions depend on the country and the  
equipment fitted in your vehicle:  
1)  
– Performing software updates  
– Performing online map updates  
– The Bluetooth menu must be open in the fore-  
ground on your mobile device during the con-  
nection procedure.  
– Performing software updates at your Audi deal-  
ership. This may lead to additional costs.  
– Your mobile device is not be connected to any  
other Bluetooth device.  
Checking the software version in your  
vehicle  
– Your mobile device is within range of the MMI.  
– The connection request PIN on your mobile de-  
vice is the same as on the MMI and has been  
confirmed.  
You can check the software version installed in  
your vehicle in the Settings menu ðpage 221.  
The software version of your vehicle is displayed  
under Installed software version.  
You can also search for the MMI on your mobile  
device using the Bluetooth device search.

You can update the software directly in the vehi-  
cle via a software update.  
Important: The vehicle must be stationary and  
switched on. The Connection manager menu is  
displayed ðpage 221.  
Downloading a software update  
Important: The MMI must be connected to the in-  
ternet.

Software updates are downloaded automatically  
without prior notification. If necessary, the

functions are restricted while the software up-  
date is being installed.  
Legal information  
Legal information on software licences  
A notification is shown on the centre display  
when the software update is complete. You can  
have information on the installed software dis-  
played.  
Software licence information can be found online  
Legal information on vehicle software  
A notification is shown on the centre display if  
the software update fails. Follow the instructions  
given by the system.  
You can display the vehicle’s software and version  
information in the Settings menu ðpage 221.  
WARNING  
Legal information on apps  
– To ensure that the update is carried out cor-  
rectly, it is not possible to switch the vehicle  
on while the update is installing.  
You can display various legal information or soft-  
ware and licence information for apps. The con-  
tent and availability depend on the respective  
app.  
– In the event of installation errors, please  
contact a qualified workshop without delay  
and have the fault rectified.

To call up the legal information on an app, se-  
lect: > an app > .  
CAUTION  
Legal information on the system  
Please observe the information on Audi con-  
nect, particularly with regard to connection  
costs ð in Information on Audi connect on  
page 197.  
You can display various legal information or soft-  
ware and licence information on the system.
