Traffic information
Introduction
Applies to: vehicles with navigation system and online traffic
information
By receiving traffic information, your MMI calcu-
lates a better route (if one is available) and any
possible time saving compared to the current
route guidance.
The following options are available:
Automatic traffic avoidance

and start route guidance.

If a better route is available, this is set automati-
cally. The MMI does not inform you of a better
route if the calculated time needed to avoid the
traffic jam exceeds the estimated time lost in the
traffic jam.
Calling up traffic information
Important: The map must be displayed

Press on the traffic message 2 .
Press or to display the previous/next traf-
fic message.
The MMI informs you if a better route is available
via a notification or a message in the traffic infor-
mation 1 ðpage 275, Fig. 180. You can then
choose which route you would like to use.

The following information can be displayed:
To select a better route, you have the following
options:

If your MMI has calculated a better route for
the current route guidance, a corresponding
message is shown. The estimated delay takes
into account future changes to the traffic sit-
uation on the route. Press on the entry in the
list 1 and select the better route. Further in-
formation can be found on ðpage 272.

Notifications: Press . The better route will be
used for route guidance. Alternatively, press on
the notification. Press on the information win-
dow for the better route (e.g. 2 ðpage 272,
Fig. 178).

Message in the traffic information: Press on

A traffic message is displayed. The distance
to the hazard location is calculated based on
the current vehicle position.

Press on the information window for the better
route (e.g. 2 ðpage 272, Fig. 178).
Traffic messages are only displayed when
route guidance is active. Press on the corre-
sponding line to have details displayed.
Online traffic information
Applies to: vehicles with navigation system and online traffic
information
Note
The MMI system can receive real-time informa-
tion from the internet regarding traffic conges-
tion, accidents, roadworks and other incidents.
– Urgent traffic information, such as a car
travelling in the wrong direction on the mo-
torway, is displayed automatically as a noti-
fication.
Important: The MMI must be connected to the in-
ternet ðpage 254, Audi connect. The MMI traffic
information must be switched on ðpage 277.
– Traffic information is not available in certain
countries.
