CONTROLS Â
Activating the departure time Â
Safety information Â
Functional requirement Â
DANGER Â
To switch on the pre-ventilation automatically Â
at the departure time, the departure time must Â
be activated first. Â
If the exhaust pipe is blocked or ventilation Â
is insufficient, harmful exhaust gases can pol- Â
lute the area in and around the vehicle or Â
penetrate the vehicle. The exhaust gases Â
contain pollutants which are colorless and Â
odorless. In enclosed areas or areas with in- Â
sufficient ventilation, exhaust gases can also Â
accumulate outside of the vehicle. There is a Â
danger to life. Keep the exhaust pipe free and Â
ensure sufficient ventilation. Do not switch on Â
stationary climate control in enclosed areas Â
or areas with insufficient ventilation, e.g. in Â
enclosed garages. Â

Warning Â
2. "Preconditioning setting" Â
When stationary climate control is in opera- Â
tion, high temperatures can occur underneath Â
the body, for instance caused by the exhaust Â
system. If combustible materials such as Â
leaves or grass come in contact with hot Â
parts of the exhaust system, these materi- Â
als can ignite. There is a risk of fire. Make Â
sure that no combustible materials can come Â
in contact with hot vehicle parts during sta- Â
tionary climate control operation, e.g. leaves, Â
grass, gas, gasoline, oil or other combustible Â
objects. Â

Pre-conditioning through Â
Remote Engine Start Â
Functional requirements Â
Principle Â
â–·
The vehicle is in idle state or standby state Â
and not in drive-ready state. Â
Pre-conditioning cools or heats the car's inte- Â
rior prior to start of the trip to a comfortable Â
temperature. The system automatically cools, Â
vents, and heats depending on the interior, ex- Â
ternal, and set temperature. Snow and ice may Â
be removed more easily. Â
â–·
â–·
Battery is sufficiently charged. Â
For reasons of safety, the system can only Â
be switched on twice consecutively. The Â
system will be available again as soon as Â
the drive-ready state is activated and deac- Â
tivated again. Â
The system starts the engine automatically Â
and allows it to run for a limited period of time. Â
â–·
The fuel tank capacity is sufficient. Â
