Practical Information -> Advice on care and maintenance for Your Citroen C3 SUV Fourth Generation (2022-2025)

Practical Information
and wheel rims as well as the presence of the
valves.
When the wear indicators no longer appear set
back from the tread, the depth of the grooves is
less than 1.6 mm; it is imperative to replace the
tires.
Using different size wheels and tires from those
specified can affect the lifetime of tires, wheel
rotation, ground clearance, the speedometer
reading and have an adverse effect on road
holding.
Tip
After washing the vehicle, moisture, or
in wintry conditions, ice can form on the
brake discs and pads: braking efficiency may
be reduced. Gently dab the brakes to dry
and defrost them.
The suggested wheel rotation method is the
"forward cross".
Brake disc and drum wear
Warning
This rotation pattern does not apply
to some directional tyres that must not be
reversed.
For information on checking brake
disc and drum wear, contact a CIT-
ROËN dealer.
Fitting different tires on the front and rear axles
can cause ABS and EBFD systems to mistime.
Tyre pressure
Below points are suggested by tyre
manufacturer:
Wheels and tires
The inflation pressure of all tyres,
including the spare wheel, must be
checked on "cold” tyres.
– To ensure maximum tyre life, it is advisable to
rotate the tyres every 5,000 km.
– After 10,000 kms, it is mandatory to rotate the
tyres to get the better tyre life.
Second option is based on the service
frequency of the vehicle, tyre rotation can be
decided.
The inflation pressure of all tires, in-
cluding the spare wheel, must be
checked on "cold” tires..
The pressures indicated on the tyre pressure
label are valid for "cold" tyres. If you have driven
for more than 10 minutes or more than 10
kilometres at over 50 km/h, add 0.3 bar (30 kPa)
to the values indicated on the label.

Warning
Proper operation of four-wheel drive
vehicles depends on tyres of equal sizer, type
and circumference on each wheel.
Any difference in tyre size can cause damage
to the power transfer unit.
Warning
Under-inflation increases energy
consumption. Non-compliant tyre pressures
cause tyres to wear prematurely and have an
adverse effect on the vehicle's road holding -
risk of accident!

Tyre rotation schedule should be followed by
balance tyre wear.
Periodic wheel rotation
Wheel alignment
Due to camber and toe values, there might be
chances for front tyre getting more wear. This
kind of wheel rotation will reduce higher wear
on same tyre.
After hitting potholes or bumps
Driving with worn or damaged tires reduces the
braking and road holding performance of the
vehicle. It is recommended to regularly check
the condition of the tyres (tread and sidewalls)
If significant road hazards are encountered,
such as potholes, curbs, or speed bumps, it is
advisable to have the wheel alignment checked
immediately.

Practical Information
These impacts can easily throw the wheels out
of alignment.
It could also be a bent wheel, a damaged
tyre (which won’t be fixed by balancing), worn
suspension parts or other aging components.
Windshield Washer System

Uneven tyre wear
If the car's tyres are wearing unevenly, this is a
clear sign that the wheels may be misaligned.
Uneven tyre wear can lead to reduced tyre
lifespan.
Shock absorbers
It is not easy for drivers to detect
when shock absorbers are worn. Nevertheless,
the shock absorbers have a major impact on
road-holding and braking performance.
For your safety and driving comfort, it is
important to have them regularly checked by
a CITROËN dealer.
Part of regular maintenance
Wheel Alignment: this must be done every
10,000 kms.
Check that if there is washer fluid in the tank.
Refill if it is necessary.
Front suspension / Lower arm / Tyre repairs
Any work done on this system can impact
wheel alignment.
After such repairs or modifications, it's essential
to have the alignment checked.
Use a good quality windshield washer fluid,
diluited with water as necessary
Timing and accessory kits
Warning
Steering issues / Vehicle pulling
Do not use detergent or any additive
in the Windshield washer tank. This can
severely impair visibility when sprayed on
the windshield and can also damage your
Vehicle's paint.
If the vehicle tends to veer to one side, the
steering wheel is not centred when driving
straight ahead, or there is vibration in the
steering wheel, it is time to consider wheel
alignment.
Timing and accessory kits are used
from the time the engine is started until it is
switched off. It is normal for them to wear over
time.
A faulty timing or accessory kit can damage
the engine, rendering it unusable. Observe the
recommended replacement frequency, stated
in distance travelled or time elapsed, whichever
is reached first.
Wheel balancing
Vehicle pulls to one side
It's possible that the vehicle, need an
alignment, or the tyres and wheels are out of
balance.
Uneven or fast tread wear
If the tread appears to be wearing too quickly,
it may be due to an imbalance in the wheel-tyre
assembly.
Shaking steering wheel
Vibration in the steering wheel when driving
could be caused by an out-of-balance wheel-
tyre assembly.
