The hydraulic coupler
Permanently active, it detects the loss of grip of the front wheels and then transmits
the engine torque to the rear wheels.
The coupler will adjust the percentage of torque as required.

. Rear axle with differential
The differential, a mechanical assembly mounted in the rear axle, allows the same
wheels on one axle to turn at different speeds (absolute necessity in bends to avoid
tyre scrub). It also multiplies the torque.
As an option, the rear differential can be lockable. Locking the rear differential
increases your vehicle's cross-country capabilities, but must be used with care.
. Lateral transmissions (or cardan)
They transmit the engine torque from the differential to the wheels.
