PREPARATIONS FOR TRIP
If the lamp remains on, please contact an MG Authorised
Repairer for service as soon as possible.
When the instrument panel displays 'Fuel
Filler Flap Open', stop the vehicle as soon as
safety permits and then close the fuel filler
flap.
Refuelling
Vehicle fuel is highly flammable and
in confined spaces can be extremely
explosive.
If the fuel filler flap has not been closed,
the release switch will still need to be
pressed before refueling. The fuel filler
flap can only be opened after the refueling
preparations have been completed by the
integrated systems, otherwise harm or
personal injury may occur.

Always take care when refuelling:

•
•
Stop the power system;
Do not smoke or use a naked flame;
Do not use a mobile phone;
Prevent fuel spillage;
Note: Do not forcefully open the fuel filler door when
it is not unlocked.
Do not overfill the tank.
Fuel Filler Cap
Do not fully refuel the tank if the vehicle is to be parked in
direct sunlight or high ambient temperature - expansion of
the fuel could cause a spillage.
Slowly rotate the fuel filler cap counterclockwise to release
the pressure inside the tank before opening it.
After refuelling, if the engine runs unevenly, shut down
the engine and seek an MG Authorised Repairer before
attempting to restart the engine.
After refuelling, replace the fuel filler cap and tighten it till
you hear a 'click'.
If the fuel filler cap is not tightened, the engine emission
malfunction indicator lamp on the instrument pack may
illuminate. Please tighten the fuel filler cap in this case.
