TACHOMETER  
Changing the trip odometer display:  
® Reset knob for odometer  
® Clock (if so equipped: See "Clock" later in  
this section.)  
The tachometer indicates engine speed in revo-  
lutions per minute (rpm). Do not rev the en-  
gine into the red zone .  
Push the reset knob ® to change the displayas  
follows:

The red zone varies with the engine type.  
CAUTION:  
Resetting the trip odometer:  
Speedometer  
Push the reset knob for more than 1 second to  
reset the trip odometer to zero.  
The speedometer indicates vehiclespeed (km/h  
or MPH). Scale resolution on the meter varies  
with models.  
When engine speed approaches the red  
zone, shift to a higher gear. Operating the  
engine in the red zone may cause serious  
engine damage.  
Odometer/Twin trip odometer  
The odometer records the total distance the  
vehicle has been ariven.  
The trip odometer records the distance of indi-  
vidual trips.

vehicle as soon as safely possible. If the  
engine is overheated, continued operation  
of the vehicle may seriously damage the  
engine. See "If your vehicle overheats" in

immediate action required.  
Allow the engine to cool before removing  
the radiator cap to avoid the danger of  
being scalded.

This unit is a display unit with the following

Push the ON/OFF switch when the ignition  
switch is in the ACC or ON position. The outside  
temperature will be displayed in OF.

The gauge needle is designed to move to the E  
(Empty) position when the ignition key is turned  
to the OFF position.

Keep turning the switch to adjust the brightness  
of the instrument panel lights. Turning the switch  
to the @ side will brighten the lights. Turning it  
to the ® side will dim the lights.
