It may take some time until the rear view
monitor is displayed after the shift lever has
been shifted to the “R” (Reverse) position
from another position or to another posi-
tion from the “R” (Reverse) position. Objects
may be distorted momentarily until the rear

Predictive course lines:
Indicate the predictive course when operating
the vehicle. The predictive course lines will be
displayed on the monitor when the steering
wheel is turned. The predictive course lines will
move depending on how much the steering
wheel is turned and will not be displayed while
the steering wheel is in the neutral position.

interfere with the tone and it may not be
heard.
Keep the surface of the sensor (sonar)
(located on the front and rear bumper
fascia) free from accumulations of snow,
ice and dirt. Do not scratch the surface of
the sensor (sonar) when cleaning. If the
sensors (sonar) are covered, the accuracy
of the sensor (sonar) function will be
diminished.
Read and understand the limitations of
the parking sensor (sonar) as contained
in this section.
The colors of the sensor (sonar) indica-
tors and the distance guide lines in the
front, rear, front-wide and rear-wide
views indicate different distances to the
object.
Inclement weather or ultrasonic sources
such as an automatic car wash, a truck’s
compressed-air brakes or a pneumatic
drill may affect the function of the sys-
tem; this may include reduced perfor-
mance or a false activation.
This function is designed as an aid to the
driver in detecting large stationary ob-
jects to help avoid damaging the vehicle.

a
sound such as horn, or an ultrasonic
source (such as parking sensors of other
vehicles) around the vehicle, the sensor
(sonar) may not detect objects properly.
.
.
The system is not designed to prevent
contact with small or moving objects.
The system will not detect small objects
below the bumper, and may not detect
objects close to the bumper or on the
ground.
When the “Sonar/MOD” key is touched again,
the indicator light will turn on and the parking
sensor (sonar) will turn back on.
The system provides a tone for front objects

When the shift lever is in the “P” (Park) or “N”
(Neutral) position and the vehicle is
stopped, the MOD system detects the
moving objects in the bird’s-eye view. The
MOD system will not operate if the outside
mirror is moving in or out or if either door is
opened.
When the shift lever is in the “D” (Drive)
position and the vehicle speed is below
approximately 8 km/h (5 MPH), the MOD
system detects moving objects in the front
view or front-wide view.
When the shift lever is in the “R” (Reverse)
position and the vehicle speed is below
approximately 8 km/h (5 MPH), the MOD
system detects moving objects in the rear
view or rear-wide view. The MOD system
will not operate if the back door is open.
.
.
The MOD system does not detect sta-
tionary objects.
Do not use the MOD system when towing
a trailer (if available). The system may not
function properly.
Excessive noise (such as from the audio
system or an open vehicle window) will
interfere with the chime sound, and it
may not be audible.
The MOD system performance will be
limited according to environmental con-
ditions and surrounding objects such as:

moving shadows, etc.
The MOD system may not function prop-
erly depending on the speed, direction,
distance or shape of the moving objects.
If your vehicle sustains damage to the
area where the camera is installed, leav-

WARNING:
MOVING OBJECT DETECTION (MOD)
The Moving Object Detection (MOD) system can
inform the driver of moving objects surround-
ing the vehicle when driving out of garages,
maneuvering into parking lots and other such
instances.
.
The MOD system is not a substitute for
proper vehicle operation and is not de-
signed to prevent contact with the ob-
jects surrounding the vehicle. When
maneuvering, always use the outside
mirror and rear view mirror and turn
and check the surrounding to ensure it
is safe to maneuver.
.
.
The MOD system detects moving objects by
using image processing technology on the
image shown on the display.
The MOD system operates in the following
conditions when the camera view is displayed:

OPERATING TIPS
WARNING:
.
.
The heater and air conditioner operate
only when the engine is running.
Never leave children or adults who would
normally require the support of others
alone in the vehicle. Pets should not be
left alone either. They could unknowingly
activate switches or controls and inad-
vertently become involved in a serious
accident and injure themselves. On hot,
sunny days, temperatures in
a closed
vehicle could quickly become high en-
ough to cause severe or possibly fatal
injuries to people or animals.

Adjust the air flow direction of the ventilators
by moving the center knob (up/down, left/
right) until the desired position is achieved.
.
.
Do not use the recirculation mode for
long periods as it may cause the interior
air to become stale and the windows to
fog up.
Do not adjust the heating and air con-
ditioning controls while driving so that
full attention may be given to vehicle
operation.
The heater and air conditioner operate when
the engine is running. The air blower will
operate even if the engine is turned off and
the ignition switch is in the “ON” position.
SAA3058
When the engine coolant temperature and
outside air temperature are low, the air flow
from the foot outlets may not operate. How-
ever, this is not a malfunction. After the coolant
temperature warms up, the air flow from the
foot outlets will operate normally.
NOTE:
.
Odors from inside and outside the vehicle
can build up in the air conditioner unit.
Odor can enter the passenger compart-
ment through the ventilators.
When parking, set the heater and air
conditioner controls to turn off air recir-
culation to allow fresh air into the pas-

MP3 — MP3 is short for Moving Pictures
Experts Group Audio Layer 3. MP3 is the
most well known compressed digital audio
file format. This format allows for near “CD
quality” sound, but at a fraction of the size
of normal audio files. MP3 conversion of an
audio track from CD can reduce the file size
by approximately 10:1 ratio (Sampling: 44.1
kHz, Bit rate: 128 kbps) with virtually no
perceptible loss in quality. MP3 compres-
sion removes the redundant and irrelevant
parts of a sound signal that the human ear
doesn’t hear.
WMA — Windows Media Audio (WMA) is a
compressed audio format created by Mi-
crosoft as an alternative to MP3. The WMA
codec offers greater file compression than
the MP3 codec, enabling storage of more
digital audio tracks in the same amount of

Troubleshooting guide:
Cause and Countermeasure
Symptom
Check if the USB was inserted correctly.
Check if there is condensation inside the player, and if there is, wait until the condensation is gone (about 1 hour)
before using the player.
If there is a temperature increase error, the audio system will play correctly after it returns to the normal
temperature.
Files with extensions other than “.MP3”, “.WMA”, “AAC”, “WAV”, “.mp3”, “.wma”, “.m4a” or “wav” cannot be played. In
addition, the character codes and number of characters for folder names and file names should be in compliance
with the specifications.
Cannot play
Check if the file is generated in an irregular format. This may occur depending on the variation or the setting of
MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV writing applications or other text editing applications.
Check if the finalization process, such as session close, is done for the USB.
Check if the USB is protected by copyright.
If there are many folder or file levels on the MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV data, some time may be required before the music
starts playing.
It takes a relatively long time
before the music starts playing.
The writing software and hardware combination might not match, or the writing speed, writing depth, writing
width, etc., might not match the specifications. Try using the slowest writing speed.
Music cuts off or skips
Skipping may occur with large quantities of data, such as for high bit rate data.
Skipping with high bit rate files
When a non-MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV file has been given an extension of “.MP3”, “.WMA”, “AAC”, “WAV”, “.mp3”, “.wma”, “.
m4a” “.wav”, or when play is prohibited by copyright protection, the player will skip to the next song.
Move immediately to the next
song when playing.
The playback order is the order in which the files were written by the writing software, so the files might not play in
the desired order.
Random/Shuffle may be active on the audio system or on a USB device.
The songs do not play back in
the desired order.
