The seat belts are fitted with an inertia reel Â
permitting automatic adjustment of the Â
length of the strap to your size. The seat belt Â
is stowed automatically when not in use. Â
Before and after use, ensure that the seat Â
belt is reeled in correctly. Â
The lower part of the strap must be Â
positioned as low as possible on the pelvis. Â
The upper part must be positioned in the Â
hollow of the shoulder. Â
The inertia reels are fitted with an automatic Â
locking device which comes into operation in Â
the event of a collision, emergency braking Â
or if the vehicle rolls over. You can release Â
the device by pulling the strap firmly and Â
then releasing it so that it reels in slightly. Â
In accordance with current safety Â
regulations, for all repairs on your vehicle's Â
seat belts, go to a qualified workshop with Â
the skills and equipment needed, which a Â
PEUGEOT dealer is able to provide. Â
Have your seat belts checked regularly by a Â
PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, Â
particularly if the straps show signs of Â
damage. Â
Clean the seat belt straps with soapy Â
water or a textile cleaning product, sold by Â
PEUGEOT dealers. Â
After folding or moving a seat or rear bench Â

Depending on the nature and Â
seriousness of the impact, the Â
pretensioning device may be deployed Â
before and independently of the airbags. Â
Deployment of the pretensioners is Â
accompanied by a slight discharge of Â

activation of the pyrotechnic cartridge Â
incorporated in the system. Â
In all cases, the airbag warning lamp comes Â
on. Â
Following an impact, have the seat belts Â
system checked, and if necessary replaced, Â
by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified Â
workshop. Â
