Opening the doors from the  
outside  
Opening the doors manually  
from inside the car  
Move handle 3.  
Childproof locks  
These make it impossible for the  
rear doors to be opened from the  
inside. Move lever 4 on each door  
and check from the inside that both  
doors are securely locked.  
Front: Use the key to unlock one of  
the front door locks 2. (Make sure  
that the key is inserted as far as it  
will go into the lock.) Place your  
hand behind handle 1 and pull it  
towards you.  
“Lights on” warning buzzer  
A warning buzzer will sound when  
a front door is opened if you have  
left the lights switched on after  
switching off the ignition (to  
prevent discharge of the battery).  
Rear: Place your hand behind  
handle 1 and pull it towards you.

Manual locking  
Operating incident  
If outside, use the key.  
In the event of an electrical failure,  
the doors can be locked manually.  
Front: Using the key.  
Electric central locking  
Rear: With the door open, turn the  
screw 2 (using a tool such as a flat  
screwdriver) and close the door  
again. The door will then be locked  
from the outside.  
This enables all four doors, the  
luggage compartment and fuel  
flap to be locked or unlocked  
simultaneously.  
Press the red spot on switch 1 to  
lock the doors.  
It will only be possible to open the  
door from the inside.  
The front door mechanism cannot  
be locked if the front door is open.

Door status indicator light 3  
The switch indicator light 3 shows  
the closure status of the doors:  
- when the doors are locked,  
indicator light 3 is on;  
If one of the four doors is open,  
indicator light 5 switches on and  
the four doors in picture 4 are open  
on display A.  
- when a door is opened (or not  
properly closed), indicator light 3  
is off.  
If you decide to keep the  
doors locked when you are  
driving, remember that it  
may be more difficult for  
those assisting you to gain access to  
your vehicle in the event of an  
emergency.  
When you lock the doors by  
remote control, indicator light 3  
stays on for approximately one  
minute before switching off.

AUTOMATIC LOCKING OF DOORS, ETC. WHEN DRIVING  
You can decide if you wish to  
activate the function.  
To activate it  
With the ignition on, press the  
locking side (red dot) of the door  
central locking button

approximately 5 seconds until you  
hear a beep.  
To deactivate it

With the ignition on, press the  
unlocking side (opposite the red  
dot) of the door central locking

Operating incident  
When the vehicle moves off, the  
system automatically locks the  
doors, etc. as soon as a speed of  
4 mph (6 km/h) is attained.  
If you note that the system is not  
operating correctly (automatic  
locking does not take place, the  
indicator light 2 does not illuminate  
when the doors, etc. are locked),  
first of all check that all the doors,  
etc. are properly closed. However, if  
they are closed correctly, consult  
your Renault Dealer.  
Unlocking occurs automatically:  
- if a front door is opened.  
Note: If a rear door is opened, this  
will be locked again automatically  
when the vehicle attains a speed of  
approximately 4 mph (6 km/h).  
If you decide to keep the  
doors locked when you  
are driving, remember  
that it may be more  
difficult for those assisting you  
to gain access to your vehicle in  
the event of an emergency.
