of air when the vehicle is

moving.

This switches the air recycling

system on or off.

Normal operation of the heating

and ventilation system is

obtained using external air.

It is advisable therefore to return to

normal operation (external air) by

adjusting control C when you have

passed through the polluted area.

To alter this setting, move control

C to the

setting or higher.

Check that the controls are set

correctly and that the fuses are in

good condition. If both these points

are correct, switch off the system

(warning light D extinguished) and

consult a Renault Dealer.

In very hot weather or when the

vehicle has been parked in the sun,

open the doors for a few moments to

let the hot air escape before starting

the engine.

When the air conditioning is

operating, all the windows must be

closed to give the best efficiency.

If there is an operating fault, contact

your Renault Dealer.

Use the Isolation of the passenger

compartment function E to lower

the temperature as quickly as

possible to the required level.

Switch off the air recirculation

function once a comfortable level

has been reached.

Do not open the circuit as

the refrigerant is harmful

to the eyes and skin.

It will spring back with a click when

it is ready. Pull it out to use. After

use, place it back without pushing it

all the way in.

Child safety

Switch 5 overrides the operation of the rear windows.

Never leave the vehicle unattended with the key in the ignition if

there is a child (or animal) in the vehicle. With the key in the ignition it

would be possible to operate the electric windows and there is a risk that

the child may be seriously injured (by trapping his or her neck, arm, hand,

etc.).

Pull the sun blind using tab 4 until

the two hooks 5 engage in the

retainers (make sure the hooks are

properly locked in position).

Non-illuminated vanity mirror

A vanity mirror fitted in the sun

visor has a cover 2.

Illuminated courtesy mirror

When the sun visor is fitted with an

illuminated vanity mirror 3, the

mirror is illuminated automatically

when the cover is lifted 2.

SUNROOF

• To slide the sunroof

Sliding and tilting glass sunroof

- Opening: Tilt switch 2 backwards

and keep it depressed until the

sunroof is open to the required

amount. Screen 1 is drawn back at

the same time.

The sunroof must be completely

closed before changing from one

mode to the other.

- Closing: Tilt switch 2 forwards

and draw screen 1 back to its

original position.

With the ignition on:

• To tilt the sunroof

- Opening: Pull screen 1 back and

then tilt switch 2 towards the front

and keep it depressed until the

required tilt angle is obtained.

- Closing: Tilt switch 2 backwards

then move the screen 1 back to its

original position.

Child safety

• Ensure the sunroof is properly

closed before leaving your

vehicle.

If there is a child (or

animal) in the car, never

leave it unattended with

the key in the ignition. With the

key in the ignition it would be

possible to operate the sunroof

and there is a risk that the child

may be seriously injured (by

trapping his or her neck, arm,

hand, etc.).

Lift up seat 1 and place it behind

the front seats.

• When refitting the seatback, make sure the top part is latched in properly. If seat covers are used, make sure

that they do not prevent the latch for the seatback from locking into position.

• When moving the bench seat, make sure the front seat belts are in position correctly before folding the seat

base.

When refitting the rear bench seat, ensure that the seat belts are correctly positioned.

There is a storage space on each side

3 for accessories (such as oil/petrol

can, kits, etc.) and an elastic

fastening for holding items such as a

warning triangle.

To close

Lower the tailgate using handle 2

When the tailgate has been lowered

to shoulder height, release handle 2

and finish closing the tailgate by

pressing down on the tailgate from

the outside.

Rear parcel shelf

To remove, unhook the two straps 1

from the tailgate.

Lift the rear parcel shelf slightly and

pull it towards you.

Proceed in reverse order to refit the

shelf.

Do not place any objects,

in particular heavy or

hard objects, on the rear

parcel shelf. These may

pose

a

risk to the vehicle

occupants if the driver has to

brake suddenly or if the vehicle

is involved in an accident.

TRANSPORTING ITEMS IN THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT

Always position the objects

transported so that the largest

surface is against:

- The folded down seat for

maximum loads (example B).

Always put the heaviest

items directly onto the

floor.

When the vehicle is fitted

with them, use the lashing points

located on the floor at the rear to

secure transported items. Luggage

should be loaded in such a way

that no item will be thrown

forward and strike the occupants if

the driver has to brake suddenly.

Fasten the rear seat belts, even if

the seats are not occupied.

Always put the heaviest items

directly onto the floor.
