To open

Press button 1 and lift the tailgate.

To close

Lower the tailgate using handle 2

inside to help you.

Opening the tailgate from inside

the vehicle

If it is not possible to unlock the

tailgate, it can be opened manually

from inside.

- access the luggage compartment

by folding forward the seatback(s)

of the rear bench seat,

- insert a pencil or similar object in

cavity 3 and slide the unit as

shown in the illustration,

- push the tailgate to open it.

Removal

Unhook both straps 1.

Special features for the utility

versions, unclip fasteners 2 from

each side of the shelf, then take out

the shelf through the rear door.

Lift the rear parcel shelf slightly and

pull it towards you.

Carry out the reverse operation to

refit the shelf.

Carry out the reverse operation to

refit the shelf.

Do not place any objects,

especially heavy or hard

objects, on the parcel

shelf. These may pose a

risk to the vehicle occupants if

the driver has to brake suddenly

or if the vehicle is involved in an

accident.

Locations for strap hooks 1

Storage compartment in the

emergency spare wheel well

To open, fold back carpet 2 towards

the rear bench seat (this storage

compartment can be used to store

tools, cloths, oil cans, etc.).

These are for securing items trans-

ported in the luggage compartment

(see “transporting objects in the

luggage compartment”).
