The SAFE function is activated when the vehicle is locked from
the outside.
WARNING
Risk of death!
If the battery is swallowed, serious or even fatal injuries can re-
sult from burns in the digestive tract.
In the display of the instrument cluster after the ignition is
switched off, a message regarding the SAFE function is dis-
played.
Always keep children away from the vehicle key and batteries.

By double locking within 2 seconds.

The warning light in the driver's door will flash for about 2 sec-
onds in quick succession after the vehicle is locked, then goes
out and starts flashing regularly at longer intervals after about
30 secs.

When the SAFE function is switched off, the door can be opened
from the inside by pulling once on the opening lever.
If no door is opened within 45 seconds after unlocking, the
vehicle automatically locks again.
If the handle of the boot lid is not pressed within 120 s, the lid
automatically locks again.
The SAFE function is switched on again after unlocking and
locking the vehicle.
