ACC control
illuminated - cruise control is active
When cruise control starts, the set speed is
displayed.
ACC maintains the set speed. When your vehicle ap-
proaches the vehicle in front, ACC will automatically
start to maintain the set distance to this vehicle.
Maintaining the set speed and the distance will here-
inafter be referred to as Control.
Operating conditions
WARNING
The driving speed is higher than 20 km/h.
ACC does not respond to crossing or oncoming ob-
jects.
Operation
ACC is intended primarily for use on motorways.
Operating with the lever
pACC (predictive cruise control)
pACC represents an extension of the ACC system.
pACC adjusts the speed according to recognized
speed limits and the route, e.g. curves, intersections
or roundabouts.
The system uses the following sources to evaluate
the situation:
Navigation data
Traffic Sign Recognition
Sensors, radars and cameras
WARNING
A
Activate cruise control (cruise control deacti-
vated)
pACC does not respond to railway crossings.
Deactivate cruise control
Speed range
Depending on the equipment, ACC allows a speed
setting in the range of 30-210 km/h.
Interrupt control (sprung position)
Resume cruise control1)/Increase speed
B
If control is started at a speed of less than 30 km/h
on vehicles with an automatic transmission, the
speed is automatically increased to 30 km/h or con-
trolled according to the speed of the vehicle ahead.

Distance level
The distance to the vehicle ahead can be adjusted to
five different levels.
Accelerate temporarily
Depress the accelerator pedal.
WARNING
Maintain a minimum distance in accordance with
the country-specific legal regulations.
Releasing the accelerator pedal will cause the speed
to drop again to the set speed.
Automatic stop and start with manual gearbox
A vehicle with manual gearbox can be decelerated to
a stop using the ACC and start moving again.
Interrupting cruise control
After pressing the brake pedal
After an ESC intervention

When stopping, move the shift lever in due time to
the neutral position.
Operation
Operating with the lever
Or:
Depress the clutch pedal.
Control is disconnected in case of longer holding pe-
riods.
Set off to resume control.
The control is interrupted when the brake pedal is
depressed.
Automatic stop and start with automatic gearbox
A vehicle with an automatic transmission can be de-
celerated to a stop using the ACC and start moving
again. Control is disconnected in case of longer hold-
ing periods.
To resume the regulation:
Depress the accelerator pedal.
Activate ACC (control inactive)
Or:
Start or resume control/Increase speed in
steps of 1 km/h (sprung position)
Set the lever in position
.
Or:
Stop control (sprung position)
Deactivate ACC
Applies to vehicles with hand recognition on the
steering wheel: Grab the steering wheel again.
Increase speed in steps of 10 km/h
Reduce speed in steps of 10 km/h
Set distance level
The control is interrupted when the brake pedal is
depressed.
Overtaking
Start control/Reduce speed in steps of 1
km/h
If your vehicle changes to the fast lane and no vehi-
cle is detected in front, ACC accelerates up to the
set speed.

cording to the road
For temporary acceleration
Depress the accelerator pedal.
The vehicle accelerates and control is temporarily in-
terrupted. Upon releasing the accelerator, control is
resumed.

Interrupting cruise control ACC detects a narrow or staggered vehicle only
After pressing the brake pedal
By operating the clutch pedal for a long time
After an ESC intervention
when it is in the area covered by the radar.
Lane change by another vehicle
After deactivation of the ASR
Resuming control
If a speed is stored, move the lever to the sprung
position
.
The vehicle is controlled at the set speed. The set
speed is shown in the instrument cluster display.
Function restriction
A vehicle that changes to the lane a short distance
away may not be recognized by the ACC in time.
Do not use the ACC in the following cases:
The vehicle is making a sharp turn.
The vehicle is travelling on a sloping road or in ruts.
When the driving lane is too narrow.
Stationary vehicle
The vehicle drives through a construction site.
WARNING
Be particularly attentive and alert in the following
situations.
Regulation according to the vehicle in the adjacent
lane
If your vehicle is moving faster than the vehicle in
the next lane on the driver's side, at a speed of more
than 80 km/h, this may cause your vehicle to be con-
trolled according to that vehicle.
If a vehicle in front turns and there is a stationary ve-
hicle in front of this vehicle, the ACC must not re-
spond to the stationary vehicle.
When cornering
Vehicles with special load or special bodies
A load or superstructure that protrudes outside the
vehicle might not be detected by the ACC.
Settings
Activation / deactivation and setting
In the Infotainment system, in the menu
.
When cornering, a vehicle in the next lane may enter
the detected area. Your vehicle will be controlled ac-
cording to this vehicle.
