NOTICE

If necessary, the key must be synchronized if a

favoured button on the key has been repeatedly

pressed outside of the eﬀective range of the remote

control.

Protect the key from moisture and strong vibra-

tions.

Keep the grooves in the key clean.

The eﬀective range of the key signal is about

30 m. The eﬀective range can be reduced, e.g. due to

signal interference from other transmitters.

Changing the key battery

The new battery must comply with the speciﬁcation

of the original battery.

Functionality

Lock/unlock using the central locking button

The button in the middle part of the control pan-

Central locking system

The system unlocks and locks all doors, the fuel ﬁller

ﬂap and the boot lid at the same time.

The symbol in the button comes on when locked.

The button locks/unlocks all of the doors and the

boot lid.

Unlock indicator: double ﬂashing of the indicator

lights.

The vehicle is also unlocked when a door is opened

from the inside.

Lock indicator: single ﬂashing of the indicator lights.

The warning light in the driver's door will ﬂash for

about 2 seconds in quick succession after the vehicle

is locked, then it will start ﬂashing regularly at longer

intervals.

WARNING

A locked vehicle with a central locking button makes

it diﬃcult for responders to enter the vehicle in an

emergency.

If none of the doors or the boot lid is opened

within 45 seconds of unlocking, the vehicle automat-

ically locks again.

Setting the unlocking and locking function

In Infotainment, select the following menu:

SAFE function

Depending on the equipment, the central locking

system can include the SAFE function.

Doors on one side of the vehicle

Using the button on the key, the doors on the driv-

er’s side and the fuel ﬁller ﬂap are unlocked.

In vehicles equipped with a keyless locking system,

the doors on the passenger’s side near to which the

key is located and the fuel ﬁller ﬂap are unlocked by

touching the door handle.

Open the door.

For vehicles with a panel over the opening, remove

the panel.

When unlocked again, the other doors and the boot

lid are unlocked.

Insert the key or a ﬂat-head screwdriver into the

slot.

Troubleshooting

Turn the key or ﬂat-head screwdriver towards the

outside of the vehicle (spring-loaded position).

Central locking fault

Usage

Seek the help of a specialist garage.

The keyless locking system, KESSY, enables unlock-

ing and locking of the vehicle without actively using

the remote control key.

Mechanically unlocking and locking the door

The sensors on the handle are intended to be operat-

If single door locking or unlocking of the doors on

one side of the vehicle is set, there is no vehicle un-

locking when the key approaches the rear of the ve-

hicle.

Troubleshooting

Unlocking the boot lid

The vehicle cannot be unlocked or locked using

the sensors on the handle

Press the handle of the boot lid.

›

Lock or unlock the vehicle with the button on the

key.

Protection against inadvertently locking the key in

the vehicle

›

If the key is locked inside the vehicle, the vehicle will

unlock itself automatically. If no door is opened with-

in 45 seconds, the vehicle automatically locks again.

Then try to unlock or lock the vehicle using the

sensors on the handle.

If keyless locking does not work, seek the help of a

specialist garage.

›

If the key is locked in the luggage compartment, the

luggage compartment lid can be opened within 2 mi-

nutes.

If the vehicle is not unlocked for a longer period

of time, the function can be deactivated automati-

cally.

When the ignition was switched on, no key was

To check the deactivation, wait at least 10 seconds

and then pull the door handle.

Alarm system

Functionality

The alarm system triggers audible and visual signals

during a break-in or towing attempt.

The door must remain locked.

Keyless locking is automatically activated once again

after the vehicle is unlocked.

The alarm system is activated automatically approxi-

mately 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked.

Permanently deactivate keyless locking

In Infotainment, select the following menu:

The alarm system is automatically deactivated after

the vehicle is unlocked.

For the correct functioning of the alarm system, all

windows must be closed.

A trailer is integrated into the alarm system under

the following conditions:

✓ The vehicle is factory-ﬁtted with a towing device.

✓ The trailer is electrically connected to the vehicle

via the trailer socket.

✓ The trailer is not equipped with LED taillights.

Opening from the inside

If the electrical connection to the trailer is interrup-

ted on a vehicle with an activated alarm system,

warning signals are triggered.

Pull the door opening

Disable the alarm before connecting or discon-

necting a trailer.

The following functions of the alarm system can be

deactivated at the same time:

Deactivation is to be carried out if the vehicle is,

for example, towed or transported.

After switching oﬀ the engine, a menu is dis-

played on the Infotainment screen, showing where
