This message is to reminhe driver that  
the boot lid is opened.  
If the brake pedal is not depressed, the mes-  
sage appears and a warning tone sounds  
when the engine is started.  
Close the boot lid securely.  
The message appears with the master warn-  
ing light a warning tone sounds when the  
vehicle speed rises above 5 km/h.

When this message appears in the follow-  
ing cases, a warning tone sounds.

D The key is not detected in the vehicle  
when the ENGINE START STOP button  
is pressed.  
This message is to warn the driver that  
there is a problem somewhere in the vehi-  
cle stability control system or traction  
control system.  
Contact your Toyota dealer to service  
vehicle.

D The key is not detected in the vehicle be-

cause someone has taken the key outside  
of the vehicle without turning the engine  
off. At this time, a warning tone sounds.  
The above message turns off if the igni-  
tion switch is set to OFF or the key is in  
the vehicle.  
This message appears when the steering  
lock is stuck. The message appears for 15  
seconds. At this time, the green indicator  
light on the ENGINE START STOP switch  
flashes.  
In addition to either of the above conditions,  
if you get out from the vehicle, carrying the  
key when the transmission selector lever is  
in a position other than “P” and the ignition  
switch is not set to OFF, SHIFT TO P RANGE  
and KEY IS NOT DETECTED appear alter-  
nately.  
To free the steering lock, rotate the steering  
wheel slightly left or right while pressing the  
ENGINE START STOP switch.  
The message appears with the master warn-  
ing light.

This message is to warn the driver that the  
electronic key battery of the smart entry  
and start system is low.  
Thimessage appears when the driver’s  
dr is opened with the ignition switch set  
to OFF and the moon roof opened.  
Change the key battery as soon as pos-  
sible to ensure that the smart entry ad  
start system operates properly.  
When you leave your vehicle, be sure to  
close the moon roof.  
The message appears with the master warn-  
ing light and a warning tone sounds.  
The message appears with the mater warn-  
ing light and a warning tone sods.  
(l)  
This message warns the driver that the  
steering lock function malfunctions. At  
this time, the amber indicator light on the  
ENGINE START STOP switch flashes.  
The engine will not start in this case. Contact  
your Toyota dealer as soon as possible.  
The message appears with the master warn-  
ing light.
