Headlight switch  
The headlights can be operated manually.  
Turning the end of the lever turns on the lights as follows:  
The front position,  
tail, license plate and  
instrument  
panel  
lights turn on.  
The headlights and  
all the lights listed  
above turn on.  
Turning on the high beam headlights  
With the headlights on, push  
the lever away from you to  
turn on the high beams.  
Pull the lever toward you to the  
center position to turn the high  
beams off.  
Pull the lever toward you and  
release it to flash the high  
beams once.  
You can flash the high beams  
with the headlights on or off.

Manual headlight leveling dial  
The level of the headlights can be adjusted according to the number  
of passengers and the loading condition of the vehicle.  
Left-hand drive vehicles  
Raises the level of the head-

Daytime running light system (if equipped)  
To make your vehicle more visible to other drivers, the daytime run-  
ning lights turn on automatically whenever the engine is started.  
(However, the daytime running light system will be canceled when  
the headlight switch is operated and turns on the tail lights.) Daytime  
running lights are not designed for use at night.  
Deactivating/reactivating the daytime running light system  
Follow the procedure below.  
Turn the engine switch, headlights and tail lights off and set  
the parking brake.

Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position.  
You must perform step 3 within 5 seconds after turning the engine  
switch to the “ON” position.  
Switch on the tail lights repeat-  
edly, 3 times or more.

A buzzer will sound to indicate that the daytime running light system  
has been deactivated/reactivated.  
If any of the following occurs during the deactivation/reactivation opera-  
tion, the deactivation/reactivation operation will be canceled:  
• The engine switch is turned to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position.  
• The parking brake is released.  
• The vehicle is moving.  
Light reminder buzzer  
A buzzer sounds when the engine switch is turned to “LOCK” position and  
the driver’s door is opened while the lights are turned on.  
NOTICE  
To prevent battery discharge  
Do not leave the lights on longer than necessary when the engine is not run-  
ning.

Fog light switch  
The fog lights secure excellent visibility in difficult driving condi-  
tions, such as in rain and fog.  
Rear fog light switch  
Turns the rear fog light off  
Turns the rear fog light on

The wiper operation is selected by moving the lever as follows:

The wiper will automatically  
operate a couple of times after  
the washer squirts.

If no windshield washer fluid sprays  
Check that the washer nozzles are not blocked if there is washer fluid in the  
windshield washer fluid reservoir.

CAUTION  
Caution regarding the use of washer fluid  
When it is cold, do not use the washer fluid until the windshield becomes  
warm. The fluid may freeze on the windshield and cause low visibility. This  
may lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.  
NOTICE

When the windshield is dry  
Do not use the wiper, as they may damage the windshield.  
When the washer fluid tank is empty  
Do not operate the switch continually as the washer fluid pump may over-  
heat.

Rear window wiper and washer  
The wiper operation is selected by moving the lever as follows:

The rear window wiper and washer can be operated when
