When the alarm (p. 177) is triggered a siren
sounds and all direction indicators flash.

In certain countries the alarm(p. 177) is acti-
vated after a certain delay if the driver's door
was opened and closed but the car was not re-
locked.
If the alarm (p. 177) cannot be deactivated with
the remote control key, e.g. if the key's battery
(p. 164) is discharged - the car can be
unlocked, disarmed and the engine started as
follows:
A siren sounds for 30 seconds or until the
alarm is switched off. The siren has its own
battery and works independently of the car's
starter battery.

1. Open the left-hand front door with the
detachable key blade (p. 168).
The direction indicators flash for 5 minutes
or until the alarm is switched off.
